Throughout this course, I wanted to improve on writing stronger details in order to

provide a thesis statement that can be understanding to others. Along with improving supporting

details, I also wanted to make a writing topic that I feel comfortable about so that I can be able to

write more about that specific topic. Most of my previous essays included topics that I haven’t

researched enough because I wanted to limit topics based on what people are commonly into

such as the news about the mobile phone industry and some of the recent events. While I didn’t

choose a topic that I really wanted for the Rhetorical Analysis essay, I still used different sources

that are related to the topic as a reference for writing supporting evidence that enhances my claim

in the assignment. Since my topic was about Obama’s speech which gives his take world peace,

the reason I chose this subject was because of my understanding for his views on war. Given that

he was optimistic about the events that occur between nations, I agreed with his ideas and I

decided to look over how Obama manages to influence the audience with his use of speech. As

for the Casual Argument and the Proposal assignment, both topics that I chose for these topics

have some form of connection with video games because I have an interest in video games and I

thought that I could add some thesis statements and supporting evidence with ease. For my

Casual Argument essay, I attempt to provide an argument that gaming companies are using

business methods that displeases consumers so that I can prove a point that the methods they use

are not the right thing to do. On the other hand, I wrote about a proposal that can potentially stop

gun violence in the US instead of using video games as the main issue. While this was a topic

that can be difficult to write about, I still tried to give some points that can be understandable for

the targeted audience.
