THE term global village, in the way it is understood today. Was coined by Marshall McLuhan (1967) to
describe the way I n which advancement in technology have made it for easier and far conmunication
to take place between remote locations, there by making the world seem smaller rapidly from the
industrial revolution and continued throughout the previous country, can be seen everywhere in today
society. For example messenger on horseback became replaced by email,.each being faster and more
convenient than their respective predessors. The rapidly with which infimation can now be move
around rhe globe has to be primary concern when considing globalization, which is the phenomenon

The focus of this essay in the way I which technology related the globalization, but more especially
whether it is the key driving force behind cultural change, or determined the reason for the huge
cultural changes that are happening in tandem with rapidly advancing technogy, particularly
communication technology such as the internet. Globalization is most often examined via how it
relates to and effect economic or oalitical issues and much of the concern raised by those cynical of or
apposed to globalization points out alleged issues such as the exploitation of foreign labor on the
lolitcal imperialism of the west, how ever cultural change is also very relevant to globalization and this
CONCLUSION
It clear that technology and culture have a close relationship and the nature of this relationship can be
explained on term of economics. Technology and culture are both values and the former is a means to
acquiring or consuming the letter. The development of technology itself does not drive cultural change
or the globalization of culture. This access creates an invirenment of greater free-trade of culture
making the range of option much wider for all those with access however as will all economic activity,
human action and individual values are what drive change and value to a greater number if
people,.them these cultural characteristics are going to spread and be a depted by more people.
