Dataset(s)
Which dataset did you use of the following:

- IMDB Movie Dataset

Motivation
Describe the problem you want to solve with the data. It may relate closely with
your research question, but your goal here is to make your audience care about
the project/problem you are trying to solve. You need to articulate the problem
you are exploring and why (and for whom) insight would be valuable.

We are here to find out the trend of movies during the span of last 100 years
(specific timeframe – 1891 to 2015). Trying to see how the movie industry
has grown and what do the audience require from the Movie business
Research Question(s)
What is your research question you aim to answer using the dataset? Be sure the
research question is well defined (see project description for details).

How has the Movie making trend been through the last 10-12 decades?

What are the most preferred types of movies that audience like?

Are there any types of movies that are really exceptional but at the same
time not preferred by most of the audience?
Findings
● Here is an analysis on the number of movies
released

● Cumulative number every genre. On an average,

movies are categorized into number of movies-
genres. Comedy 8k and Drama 13k are the top
genres used.
Findings
Findings
Distributions by genre, on top of total rating
distribution. We can identify consitent ratings or
outliers (e.g. Comedies being rated higher in
general).

Result:

All genres show a similar pattern except, Horror

movies which are a bit skewed to the left (poorer
ratings)...people don't like being scared, no
matter how good the movie is from a technical
point of view. Movies without a tagged genre (no-
genres listed) are also outliers, but likely due to
the low number of ocurrences.
