And that is the kind of business called freemium business

- Freemium we can understand in an easieast way is free and
premium  A business model that allows a consumer to receive
basic services for free, but requires them to pay for any service
deemed to be premium. For instance, a cable provider may offer a
customer free NETFLIX for 2 weeks, but then require the
customer to pay a fee for any program considered to be premium
- Evernote have more ultilities

- A great pricing and features table . It means consumers could save


an amount of money if they buy a pack for a year is cheaper than a
day
- the key thing that helps users decide to try a freemium product.
Some people is suspect and when that app give them a chance to
try they could pay fee for them
- Seeing the features that they are missing out on with the free plan
also makes the decision to upgrade to a paid plan a no-brainer in
most cases
- EXAMPLE :
- Dropbox , a cloud storage and file sharing service was established
by Drew Houston , it provide users 2 gigabytes data and have a
premium to take more storage

We wil find out about 2 companies apply this kind of business model
in their company

- Will Glaser and Tim westergen is founder of Pandora. Their
biggest challenge was making a business out of a totally new kind
of online radio station without advertising
- After experiencing difficulties in their business they got some big

- Whether freemium service countinue to breath life back into the
music business remains to be seen, but other companies like
Mailchimp show how freemium can turn a company’s fortune
around
- Mailchimp went from 85,000 to 450,000
- Email volume went from 200 mil to 700 mil

For Mailchimp, freemium has been worth the price. Its currently support
8 million subcribers worldwide, sending over 200 billions email per year

What Freemium Products Have in Common

Aside from great free services and even better-paid services, what do
most freemium products have in common? A great pricing and features
table, as shown in the examples above.

It sounds simple, yet it is usually the key thing that helps users decide to
try a freemium product as it shows the product is scalable for beginners
to advanced users. Seeing the features that they are missing out on with
the free plan also makes the decision to upgrade to a paid plan a no-
brainer in most cases.
