Zeus

Greek God of the Sky and King of the Gods

Zeus was the first of the GODS and a very imposing figure. Often referred
to as the “Father of Gods and men”, he is a sky god who controls lightning
(often using it as a weapon) and thunder. Zeus is king of Mount Olympus,
the home of Greek gods, where he rules the world and imposes his will
onto gods and mortals alike.

Roles and responsibilities of Zeus

As the king of the gods and sitting atop the golden throne on Olympus,
Zeus was revered by all. Mortal kings would boast that they were
descendants of Zeus. With this supreme power came a number of roles
and responsibilities. Hesiod described Zeus as a god who “brought peace
in place of violence” and referred to him as the “lord of justice “.

Though he is most well known as god of the sky and thunder, Zeus was the
supreme cultural embodiment of Greek religious beliefs. He had many
epithets (titles) that emphasized different aspects of complete and wide
ranging authority.
Yala(Goddess of Life)

Yala is the goddess of Life, born of the union of Ather(God of Air) and Emitaf(God of Water). It was the birth
of Yala and Mordukai that caused the departure of the first four gods, under the impression that the covenant
preventing future gods from being created would be upheld. Yala could not be contained however, and all gods
born after her can trace their lineage to her at some point. Even more than that, every living creature carries
some small piece of Yala's divinity within them.
It is said that the first burgeoning life on Esai fell from her decanter, and that all healing magic uses her as a
conduit. Unlike Sifor and Ius, Yala and her brother Death understood each others place in the natural order,
never coming to blows over their respective domains. The Godswar was their first conflict, whereby Yala took
the side of Sifor, and Mordukai stood with his lover Zavan. She fought closely with War, blessing his warriors
with divine vitality.
When walking among mortals, Yala took the form of a beautiful high elf woman. She spent most of her time on
Esai serving the poor and visiting the stick, rarely intervening in higher level political affairs unlike her
extended family. Like her granddaughter Udea(Goddess of Vitality), Yala is among the most commonly
worshipped of the pantheon, especially among those clerics gifted with divine magic. Temples of Life are
commonly dotted throughout the land, though Yala's tend to much more ornate and decorate than Udeas.

A wide variety of angelic beings served Yala, as well as a cadre of Fey creatures. She is responsible for
creating all life, but has no specific creatures whose growth she influenced. Yala and Mordukai viewed each
other as two halfs of the same coin, whereby Yala created the soul of a creature and sent it out to the world so it
could act according to its own will. Mordukai was responsible for judging that creature and either reincarnating
or punishing them based on their deeds.
