The number of vertebrate fossils have been mentioned by several people in the past

(Hagen 1969, Gupta 1975) from Kathmandu basin. None of their material was properly
described & is not available for rechecking & verification for scientists, except
for the specimen reported by Corvinus & Sharma (1984) which is now kept in the
Natural History Museum, Tribhuvan University, Swayambhu. Since the present
specimens excavated by Dr Gopal Man Singh Dongol Professional Geologist, now kept
in the Natural History Museum, Tribhuvan University, Swayambhu were recovered from
a properly recognized stratigraphic horizon from the oldest sediments of the
Kathmandu basin, it tells about the climatic condition & ecological habits of the
animals during the early stage of the Kathmandu valley formation.
In the research it has been mentioned that most of the fossils are the related
representatives of the present day living species. Hence paleo environmental
interpretation from the Kathmandu fauna can be inferred by the ecological habits of
