Methodology
The study was conducted in order to collect different types of pollinators presented in the agricultural
farm of mustard plant. The research was carried out from Dec 3 to January 15 in agricultural farm of
chovar Kathmandu.

The agricultural farm of 20 square meter was selected for the study where four different plots of 5
square meter were selected as sample.

Different pollinators were observed in the mustard plant. Five plants of mustard were randomly selected
and pollinators were observed for five minutes. Observation was done from morning 10 -12 am and 2-4
pm each day for every 3 days a week in alternative basis.

Observations of flower-visiting insects were conducted from the start of flowering until approximate
95% of the flower faded. Samples of insect visitors were caught by sweep netting and hand picking for
species identification in the laboratory.

Pollinators were counted by hand pointing method. Four different orders of pollinators were recorded in
the field. Among the different time period pollinators of hymenoptera and Lepidoptera were more
abundant during 10-12 am than 2-4 pm. Among the orders more dominant was the order of
hymenoptera then followed by Lepidoptera, diptera and coleoptera.
