Marijuana: A Harmless illegal Drug

Marijuana also known as Cannabis is a natural plant that has many benefits to us
human beings. Marijuana can be use as a medication or recreational purposes.
Marijuana has mental and physical effects such as creating the person using it “high”
or “stoned” feeling, a general change in perception, heightened mood, and an increase
in appetite. The effects of marijuana will last for two or six hours, short-term side
effects may include a decrease in short-term memory, dry mouth, red eyes, and
feelings of paranoia or anxiety. Long-term side effects may include addiction,
decreased mental ability in those who started regular use as teenagers, and behavioral
problems in children whose mothers used cannabis during pregnancy. What is
medical marijuana used for? It can treat a number of different conditions which is
good for Alzheimer’s disease, Appetite loss, Cancer, Epilepsy, Glaucoma. Many of
the pro-legalization arguments are based on the idea that marijuana use cannot really
be controlled, and that efforts to control marijuana use cause more problems than they
solve. They don't necessarily state that marijuana use is a good thing, but that it is not
going away so we may as well benefit from it as a society. Legalizing marijuana will
reduce the strain on the legal and criminal justice systems by cutting out or massively
reducing relatively petty marijuana-related crime, such as possession of small
amounts of marijuana for personal use. Production and sales of marijuana by the
government, rather than by criminals, will save lives, create jobs, and generate money
which can be used for social programs, education, and healthcare. Crime related to
marijuana production, trafficking and dealing will be reduced or eliminated. By
setting an age limit on marijuana use, there can be stricter controls on whether
younger people can access marijuana. There are more positive and are focused on free
will and the potential benefits of marijuana use. The right of every individual to
determine what they consume, and how they influence their own state of
consciousness. Freedom for anyone, regardless of medical status, to use marijuana for
therapeutic reasons without the approval of a physician or diagnosis of a specific
medical condition. The recreational potential of marijuana—similar to the recreational
use of alcohol, with arguably fewer and/or less severe consequences. The positive
effects of marijuana on creativity (Hartney, 2019).
Marijuana should be legalize for our society to fight the critical conditions such as
Alzheimer’s disease, Appetite loss, Cancer, Epilepsy, Glaucoma, but it is now illegal
due to people and especially teenagers abusing the use of marijuana.

The cultivation and use of cannabis in the Philippines is illegal under Republic
Act 9165 of the comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Cannabis classifies as
a schedule I drug on the basis that it is perceive as addictive with “ a high potential for
abuse”. People abused in using it as for fun and not for medicinal benefits in health
and that’s why the Government politicians approves that it is illegal. However,
medical marijuana should be legalize for our society to fight the critical conditions
such as Alzheimer’s disease, Appetite loss, Cancer, Epilepsy, Glaucoma.

Marijuana or also known as Cannabis should be legalize for our society to have
hope to fight and treat the different critical conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease,
Appetite loss, Cancer, Epilepsy, Glaucoma. So, people stop abusing marijuana so we
can save lives, help reduce the criminal rate in our society, and create jobs to generate
money which can be use for education and healthcare. You can’t spell healthcare
without THC which means tetrahydrocannabinol. The review published in Clinical
Psychology Review assessed all published scientific literature that investigated the
use of marijuana to treat symptoms of mental illness. Its authors found some evidence
supporting the use of marijuana to relieve depression and post-traumatic stress
disorder symptoms. That being said, they caution that marijuana is not an appropriate
treatment for some other mental health conditions, such as bipolar disorder and
psychosis(Railton,2018).
