IT IN THE MODERN WORLD

1. What is Information Technology?

Information Technolgy (IT) is the use of computers to store, retrieve,

transmit, and manipulate date,or information,often in the context of a

business or other enterprise. Information Technology (IT) are use of any

computers storage, networking, and other physical devices, infrastructure

and processes to create, exchange all forms of electronic data. The term

information technology is to make an order to distinction between purpose

built machines designed to perform a limted scope of functions and

general purpose computing machines that could be programmed for

various tasks. IT includes several layers of physical equipment : hardware,

virtualization and management or automationtools,operating systems and

applications or software to perform an essential functions.

2. Difference Between Technology and Science

The words Science and Technology can and often are used

interchangeable. Science is a systematic enterprise that builds and

organizes knowledge in the form of explanations and predictions about

nature and the universe. While, Technology is the collection of

techniques, methods, or processes used in the production of goods or

services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific

investigation, or any other consumer demands. But the goal of Science is

the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake whilw the goal of Technology is

to create products that solve problems and improve human life. Science

focuses more on analysis generalizations and the creation of theories

while with Technology, it focuses more on analysis and synthesis of

design.
