Fire Beater
Used for fighting out small fires
The handle shall be made of solid bamboo having 1800 mm length and 30mm diameter.
The blade of the fire beater shall consist of a rectangular piece of expanded mild steel or steel or
steel wire mesh measuring 45 cm x 35 cm, covered fully on both sides with stretched fire resistant
canvas placed between two frames and securely fixed.

DCP Different Types

These are regular dry chemical for classes B or C fire, the major constituent being sodium
bicarbonate (NaHCO3), and multipurpose dry chemical for A,B and C class fires, the major
constituent being mono-ammonium phosphate (NH4H2PO4).
The powders are driven out of their containers by either a pressurised nitrogen or with a CO2
cartridge.
D-Type
Ternary eutectic chloride (TEC) powders are used for metal fires.
Wet chemical (k class) extinguishers
It contains a Potassium Acetate base, Potassium Carbonate base or Potassium Citrate base with
water. This extinguisher extinguishes the fires by removing the heat of the fire triangle and prevents
re-ignition by creating a barrier between the oxygen and fuel elements.
