HOW TO START ANSYS MECHANICAL APDL

1. Run: Start Menu/Programs/ANSYS 13.0/Mechanical APDL Product Launcher

2. On pull down menu License: select “ANSYS Academic Teaching Advanced”

3. Change working directory: to C:\TEMP\‟Any folder name‟

4. Optional: Change the job name to your liking

5. Click Run. Answer yes to create working directory if needed

HOW TO START ANSYS Workbench

1. Check license (only required once per user): Start Menu/Programs/ANSYS

13.0/ANSYS Client Licensing/User License Preferences
Make sure that the radio button „Use Academic Licenses‟ under Global Settings is
checked.

2. Run ANSYS Workbench: Start Menu/Programs/ANSYS 13.0/

3. Change the Folder for Temporary Files: When Workbench has started
In the menu bar> Tools Menu>Options…>Project Management (The first window
that shows)> Change the Folder for Temporary Files to C:\TEMP\‟Any folder
name‟
