1. Software Freezes and does not respond

Sol: Whenever the Next button is clicked in the Define and Evaluate step it is necessary
to make sure that the schematic page window is opened and not left blank without a
circuit since the software tries to capture the circuit drawn. To open Schematic window,
click Window in PSpice software and select the SCHEMATIC1: PAGE1 window as
shown below

2. Error in Define and Evaluate Steps

Errors and Solution
1) If the following error message comes, the solution is given below
Sol: Click OK and if PSpice is opened outside KCIDE, close PSpice and redo the step by
going to the previous step and clicking back/Show Problem Statement button.

2) The following error message may come when the user clicks save icon in the Define
step and also when clicking Next button after drawing some components in the PSpice.

Sol: Click Continue and redo the step by going to the previous/next step and clicking
next/back button.

3) If the following save dialog message appears after clicking Next button, the solution is
given below

Sol: Clicking Yes All button will return the software to normal operation but the work
done may not be saved properly hence, the work done in the previous step must be done
again.

3. Error from Capture in Rework Step

Clicking back from Rework step may give the following error message.
Sol: Click OK button to continue with normal operation

4. What if Capture is opened outside KCIDE software?

When PSpice is already opened outside the KCIDE software by the user and if he tries to
use KCIDE software then the following error message is given by the software.

Sol: Clicking OK button shows a blank space in Define step without the PSpice, the
PSpice opened outside has to be closed and the user has to redo the step by going to the
previous step and clicking back/Show Problem Statement button.
The user can also quit KCIDE and start KCIDE again after closing the Capture that has
been opened outside KCIDE software.

5. What if Capture 10.0 is not installed?

If the following error message comes, the reason might be either Capture 10.0 is not
installed or the file extension registry is not done for the Capture 10.0

Sol: Install Capture 10.0 given in the CD and before running the KCIDE software, a new
blank Analog or Mixed A/D project has to be created using the Capture 10.0

6. Why export is not working on my system?

Sol: The Microsoft Office on your system must be XP version or later version

7. Why my Graphs are not exported?

Sol: The reason might be either that you have not clicked Yes when the following
message box is shown in the evaluate step or during export.
If the problem is not solved even after you have clicked Yes in the message box, you may
have to add traces in the PSpice A/D demo window and keeping it open and click Yes for
the previous message box

8. Why the circuit diagrams are not exported in Define and Evaluate steps?

Sol: The reason might be that the circuit diagrams in the Define and Evaluate steps were
not captured properly hence you may have to go to those steps and click Next button.

9. I can not solve simultaneous equations using Excel in the KCIDE software

If the following error message is shown then solution is given below

Sol: Click Continue and Close Excel window and click the Calculate using Excel button
in the attempt step again.
