I. Introduction
Food is one of the basic needs of man. Regardless of the economic situation, human
beings must feed and since domestic birds are consumable; that makes poultry farming feasible.
With the increased awareness on the health implications of red meat; there’s an increased
demand for white meat and birds are a source of white meat. A chicken is a bird. One of the
features that differentiate it from most other birds is that it has a comb and two wattles. The
comb is the red appendage on the top of the head, and the wattles are the two appendages under
the chin. These are secondary sexual characteristics and are more prominent in the male.
A few other birds have a comb or similar appendage, in some cases bearing a different
name such as helmet in the guinea, and a few have wattles with some having a single median one
rather than a pair. The comb is the basis of the Latin name or classification of chickens. In Latin,
gallus means comb, and the domestic chicken is Gallus domesticus. The Red Jungle Fowl,
ancestor of most domestic chickens, is Gallus bankiva. There are eight recognized kinds of
combs: single, rose, pea, cushion, buttercup, strawberry, V-shaped, and silkie
Poultry, in animal husbandry, birds raised commercially or domestically for meat, eggs,
and feathers. Chickens, ducks, turkeys, and geese are of primary commercial importance, while
guinea fowl and squabs are chiefly of local interest. A breed is a specific group of domestic
animals having homogeneous appearance, homogeneous behavior, and/or other characteristics
that distinguish it from other organisms of the same species. Breeding is sexual reproduction that
produces offspring, usually animals or plants. Breeding may refer to: Breeding in the wild, the
natural process of reproduction in the animal kingdom. Animal husbandry, through selected
specimens such as dogs, horses, and rabbits
3. Determine which strain will bare more offspring than the other.
Methodology
The study will be conducted at the experimental area of the College of Agriculture,
Isabela State University, Echague, Isabela from February to April 2019.

Rooster Hen 1
Hen 2 Hen 3
C.Housing
The housing has a dimension of 2.07 (height) cm by 2.17 (length) cm by 1.56 ( width)
cm.
On this research, the stocks will be fed with breeder ration for chicken containing 18% crude
protein. And eton plastic feeder and drinker will be used for feeding the chickens, 120 grams of
feeds will be given to each stocks per day."
