BILL OF QUANTITIES

FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF ROUNDABOUT AND ADJOINING ROAD FACILITIES - FINAL WORKS.

PREAMBLES

Dimensions or quantities given in the following Bills of Quantities are approximate and not intended

to be precise and shall be used as guidance only.

It is compulsory for Tenderer to visit the site and examine the works to be completed, as shown on
the attached drawings showing the works to be completed, and take the necessary measurements
1.2 and notes to enable him prepare his quotation accurately. No claims whatsoever shall be entertained
by the COMPANY for the negligence of the Tenderer not to take this advice and the successful
Contractor's Total Lump Sum Price shall remain fixed and firm for full completion of the works.

TECHNICAL BID Tenderers are to note that a separately sealed Technical Bid is required in the
1.3 format prescribed. Failure to submit this bid and answer all sections may result in Tenderer's
Commercial Bid being returned

COMMERCIAL BID Tenderers are to note that a separately sealed Commercial Bid is required in the
1.4 format prescribed. Tenderer is to insert 0.00 (zero) against items of work he does not wish to price,
such items of work shall be deemed to be included in the Total Tendered Lump Sum Price

All Contractors must submit with their bid/tender a preliminary method statement for the completion of the
works and a preliminary work schedule based on contract duration for items of work. This schedule would be

later refined and detailed by the successful tenderer, for approval by the Company, for use in monitoring the
project progress and for payment of milestones/evaluations.

The successful Contractor shall attend a kick-off project meeting and will be required to attend weekly site

meetings at which project schedule, payments and safety issues will be discussed.

All materials shall be sourced within Nigeria wherever possible (Tenderer to inform which materials are not
possible). All materials shall be durable and the best quality available. When requested Contractor shall be

required to submit material sample for Company approval prior to procurement. Inferior of poor quality
materials will be rejected and Contractor will have to replace any such materials incorporated in the work.

All materials, labour and plant including notices and statutory fees payable or demandable are the
1.8 responsibility of the Contractor. Furthermore, the Contractor is responsible for all public health and safety
measures including avoidance of nuisance at work site.

The Contractor is responsible for and is to take care of any Community related issues and expense and

should allow same in pricing.

The Contractor is responsible for all shop drawings and engineering required in connection with the works

which must be approved by the Company's supervising personnel, regarding execution of the work.

Contractor shall be responsible for all licences, levies, tipping charges, local government charges,

environmental agency charges and all other costs associated with the work and disposal of materials.

The Contractor is responsible for all costs regarding mobilisation, demobilisation, loading and removing of all
1.12 debris from site and leaving the work areas, storage and office areas, affected by the Contract WORK, clean
and tidy to the satisfaction of COMPANY upon completion of the WORK

Contractor will provide the following: safe and secure storage of permanent materials, tools, plant and

equipment, fuel, temporary lighting and power for the works, temporary offices and water for the works.

Contractor shall work in accordance with COMPANY'S PERMIT TO WORK SYSTEM. This entails
1.14 completing a permit to work form detailing work to be performed, plant & equipment to be used and other
relevant information.

Contractor shall provide all site personnel (including his sub-contractor's personnel) with full Personnel
Protective Equipment including but not limited to: Coveralls, Safety Boots, Hard Hat, Eye Protection, Ear

Protection, Safety Gloves, Respiratory Masks. Any personnel not wearing PPE shall be instructed by
Company representative to leave the site.

Contractor shall liaise and coordinate with other contractors performing work for Company in the same area

so as to minimise disruption to the overall project.
Contractor shall take care not to cause any damage to existing adjacent structures and installations on
1.17 Company's site. Contractor shall be responsible for the repair of any such damages that may be caused by
Contractor's operations on site.

Contractor may be expected to perform sundry additional work at rates in the Bills of Quantities. In the
1.18 absence of specific rates, pro-rata rates or new rates will be agreed. Alternatively specialist work may be
performed by third party suppliers at original invoice cost plus 20 % Contractor's mark-up.

1.19 Contractor shall take out all necessary insurances as required by the conditions of contract.
