A Horn
Once upon a time, in a small village there lived a twin boy named Chanu and Chani. His mother and father
actually died when they was a child, and they were raised by his uncle. They have opposite characteristics.
Chanu is a child who is patient, friendly, likes to help people, has a soft and kind heart. While Chani is a
diligent child, stubborn, jealousy, quiet, unfriendly, and he has a weak mentality. They usually go to the forest
to help their uncles find food to survive and tree branches for sale.
One day, his uncle ask Chanu and Chani went to the forest together at night. They wondered why they went to
the forest at night, and what they will do, because usually they will go to the forest during the day.
“Uncle knows you must be confused by uncle's invitation. Uncle will found a miracle for you two, so
you have to come with uncle huh? Uncle sure you won't regret it. Make sure you don't fall asleep. Okay?”
“Okay uncle.” They replied.
After receiving an invitation from his uncle, Chanu decided to play with his friends in a playground not far from
behind his house. While Chani rested in his room. But he didn’t immediately take a break, he noticed his twin
brother who was very happy playing with his friends through the window in his room. Seeing him twin happily
made Chani happy and sad at the same time. Chani was happy when he saw his twin brother could laugh out
loud with his friends. On the other hand he also felt sad because he didn't have many friends, in fact he almost
had no friends other than his twin brother. Because of that Chani often felt jealous of Chanu, but he realized
why he was jealous of his own twin brother. Chani shouldn't be jealous of his twin brother.
As long as Chanu played with his friends, he felt he was being watched by someone. Right…, Left…, Back…,
no one but his friends. Finally he decided to play back with his friends. When he will play again, he accidentally
sees his twin brother who is looking towards the park, yup he’s Chani. Chanu could see clearly that his twin
brother was currently jealous of him. Very visible on his face. But Chanu tried to smile warmly at the twin
brothers. and Chani smiled back at him, very warm. If his twin brother smiles like that, he must go home
immediately and accompany his lonely twin brother. Because he feels bad about his twin brother.
When Chanu arrived home, he rushed to her brother's room. And his brother still hasn't moved from his place.
He decided to approach his twin brother, calling his name, but he didn’t respond. Touching his shoulder, Chani
only turned to Chanu, smiled bitterly, and immediately hugged him tightly. Chanu can only reply to hugs, and
give calm words.
Night had come, they went to the forest together. They followed his uncle with a torch on his hand. They
walked carefully when entering the forest. The condition of the forest was dark, made vision less. and they
continue to chant prayers to be given salvation. They took 30 minutes to get to the cottage. They arrived at the
cottage, they rested for 10 minutes. and made a bonfire, so that they don't feel too cold.
The uncle told them about the miracle his uncle was referring to this afternoon. Actually they have hidden
powers that are so terrible since they were babies. Chani has magical powers and Chanu has physical strength.
They are very strong. Because of his strong strength, finally his uncle gave them lessons to control their
strength. His uncle also told them their strengths and weaknesses. His uncle warned them not to use that power
for bad things. If they use it for bad things, unexpected things will happen. Namely growing horns on his head.
The more fatal mistakes they make, the bigger the horn is on his head. Uncle taught them patiently and
carefully. . Chanu had been very focused on listening to his uncle's explanation, but not with Chani, he kept
thinking about the strength he had. Chani wondered if using his strength could make him have many friends like
Chanu. He wanted to ask, but he was afraid of being scolded by his uncle. and he will ask Chanu when they
arrived home.
They spend almost one and a half hours in the forest to learn how to control their strength, and finally can
controlled them power. His uncle felt that they could control their strength well, they finally decided to go home
soon, remembering that it was almost midnight, the air was getting colder, and the campfire had dimmed.
When they got home, Chani asked Chanu, Chani explained the question he was thinking to Chanu, Chanu was
surprised by the question Chani had asked. Chanu strictly forbade Chani to use his power just to be friends. He
didn't want Chani to get something unexpected, as his uncle explained. Therefore he forbade it. After hearing
the answer, he felt angry, irritated, and wanted to cry. For what he has strength but he still doesn't have friends.
He decided to go back to his room. Chani will continue to use his power to have friends, he doesn't care what
will happen to him, all he thinks of is friends, friends and friends.
A few days later Chani invited Chani to look for fresh air, but Chani refused Chanu's invitation because he felt
too lazy. But Chanu said, “I will meet my friends, are you sure you don't want to come?”. Hearing the word
'friend', Chani changed his mind and decided to join his brother. Chanu didn't realize, now Chani was planning
something and making him smile cunningly.
"zim zalabim zim zim, help me. I beg you, let me have many friends, make them close to me, want to
play with me, and be nice to me, aiyaakk." Chani said, chanting his magic spell. it didn't take long to activate
this spell. the proof, now he is surrounded by many friends. Oh how happy Chani is. Seeing Chani happy,
Chanu was happy, he decided to leave his brother in the park with his friends. Chanu will walk around the park.
They played together until late afternoon, Chanu had joined to play together an hour ago. However, the gray sky
came and they decided to go home. During the trip, Chani told Chanu about his friend, how happy Chani had
many friends. Chanu was very happy to hear Chani's story. Chanu thought that Chani had begun to want to open
herself to accept the existence of other people around him. It rained when they got home, and tonight Chani
spent the night in the room, he was tired of playing in the park. he lies down and sleeps.
In the middle of the night, Chani woke up because of his head was very paintful and heavy, like being hit by a
sharp hammer then given a big stone in his head. Automatically he touched his head. Wait, What is this, They
have two. Immediately he saw himself in the mirror. He didn’t believe what he saw. He has two small horns on
his head. He touched it again. Shake one of them, hoping the horn can break and disappear. However, it can’t
and feels pain. In the end Chani hid and cried under the blanket, he was sad, why he didn’t listen to what Chanu
and his uncle said. Without realizing Chani, he had used his strength several times for bad things. The harder he
cries, the horns will grow bigger. yes, both horns penetrate the blanket and become bigger.
Chani decided to run away from home. He will go to the forest. Fortunately at that time the rain had stopped,
but not with lightning. He immediately went to the forest. In fact, he was afraid to go to the forest alone, in the
middle of the night like this, especially coupled with lightning. But he ventured to go to the forest. He just left
with blankets, torches, mat, and food. He walked through the forest for about one hour. He felt far from his
home, he decided to take a break. He put the things he was carrying near the tree. He searched for dry branches
to make bonfires. So he doesn't feel too cold. He tried his best to break the horn he had, but the results were
futile. Only the hands were injured by horns, some of which were rather sharp. He gave up to break the horn he
had. He let his injured hand bleed. He stared at the fire by hugging his legs wrapped in a blanket. He cried
again. Crying made him tired, he lay on the mat he had prepared beforehand.
Really he was very tired of all this. He fell asleep in an agitated state. It seems like he had a bad dream. Dream
of becoming a monster that everyone feared, including his uncle and Chanu. All his friends don't want to be
friends with him anymore. Chani woke up from his nightmare because he heard a very loud thunder. Not only
lightning, he also heard strange noises from the bushes. However, the strange voice approached and grew
louder. Chani immediately escaped from the strange voice, but the voice still followed Chani. He ran as fast as
possible, but unfortunately he tripped over the roots of the tree which made him fall, making him have to see a
strange big creature that let out a strange sound. The creature approached Chani. Chani can only hug her legs
and cry. Without realizing it, he had been carried by a strange, large bodied creature to an unknown place.
He doesn't know where he is now. When he opened his eyes, he wasn’t in the forest now. But, everything he
saw was the same place as in the fairy tale book he had read. Really this place is very beautiful. But he had not
found one person who passed by. He chose to follow the river, and suddenly the whistling sound from the right
side, he decided to find out the voice. It turned out that the whistle came from a bright and fresh green garden.
There are lots of people, but they look weird. the people there have long ears, a nose like a pinocchio, a tail like
a monkey, half a body like animals, and some look like they have horns, but that person only has one horn.
The people there were surprised by Chani's sudden arrival. But they welcomed him warmly. He was also led to
sit by someone who had one horn, his name was Cho. Yap, he saw the name label on his shirt. Then he was
served hot tea by Chee, he had long ears. After that, they introduced themselves to Chani. There are Cho, Chee,
Henley, Hann, and Donn. Henley has a nose like a pinocchio, Hann has a tail on his ass, and Donn has a half-
animal body like a deer. They are truly unique.
After the welcomed Chani, he asked permission to ask them about this place. Hearing Chani's question, making
them just smile.
"Before you ask your question, we already know what you are going to ask. Okay I will explain it. So
this place is a dumping place for people who have magic power, but those who are thrown here make some
mistakes on earth. Maybe also because they arrogant because they have power because of that they are thrown
here. They are carried by that big creature. Actually there are a lot of people here, but now there are five of us,
yes, maybe it will be six of you. Fyi, they have returned to their homes." Hann explained. Chani nodded in
understanding Hann's explanation.
"But how? Why don’t you go home too?" Chani asked again.
"They repented, begged for forgiveness, vowed not to repeat it, and their strength was removed. Our
family doesn't want us to be a member of their family anymore. And here’s too comfortable for me. now our
turn will ask you " Henley replied. Hearing Henley's narrative made Chani think, whether his family would
accept it in this way. he was afraid his dream would come true.
They asked Chani a lot. Starting from the origin of the Chani horn on the head, the strength it possesses, and
others. Patiently, Chani explained one by one the questions they asked him. After that they understood Chani's
answer. Yes could say those who are there have the same fate. Cho asked Chanu if he wanted to go home. But
he didn't answer the question Cho said. Chee approached Chani and he showed visibility how nervous and
worried Chanu and his uncle were to Chani. Of course Chani was shocked to see it. He didn’t expect. Without
realizing it, droplets of water dripped from the edges of his eyes. yes he’s crying. Immediately they embraced
Chani. Chani wants to go home now. No matter how. Chani asked them for help so he could go home. Honestly
he missed Chanu, his uncle, and his friends. Hearing Chani's request, they agreed to his request and helped
Chani.
Now they are making plans more precisely to help Chani go home. Cho, Chee, Henley, Hann, and Donn unite
their strengths. They have different strengths. Cho has the ability of Arc Time which is to be able to restore
objects to recover the same as before, Chee has the power to be able to see what is being done by other people
(sight), Henley has the ability to legilimens which is able to know the contents of other people's thoughts. Hann
can make objects float, and Donn has Zoakinesis abilities namely the ability to change into and communicate
with animals. By uniting the strength they have, making strength stronger. Chani can go home safely, but has a
high risk. The possibility that both Chani's horns will disappear, the power possessed by Chani is getting
weaker, his body condition is not as healthy as it once was, and he will lose his memory of this place.
Chani didn’t object to what would happen to him, all he thought was to go home and apologize to Chanu and
his uncle. If Chani still has both horns, he will accept it. Because he must be responsible for what he did.

During the spell reading, Chani had a great trembling and his head was very sore, so he screamed like someone
was in pain. But the pain was only for a moment. When the pain was gone, he opened his eyes, and he woke up
in the middle of the forest. He tried to recall the incident that happened to him. All he remembered was growing
horns on his head, then he ran away from home, chased by a strange large body, after which he remembered
nothing. Remembering the horn, Chani immediately grabbed her head and the horn was completely gone but
left a mark. He tried to use his strength, but he was too weak to do so. He immediately stood up and walked
home. The footsteps are unsteady, making chani often lose balance and end up falling on the ground. But when
he is about to fall, he is captured by someone who is none other than Chanu. Yes Chanu, his twin brother. Who
happened to go forest to find his missing twin brother. Chani saw Chanu's expression clearly worried,
blackened eyes, could Chani conclude that Chanu often cried. Without speaking much, Chanu swiftly carried
his twin sister on his back. Bring him home.
When he arrived at home, he immediately took Chani to his own room. His uncle who saw Chanu was carrying
Chani also looked panicked, and immediately helped Chanu. They put Chani on his bed slowly. His uncle
immediately took a basin of warm water to clean the soil attached to Chani's body. Chanu sees chani as if
demanding chani to explain what happened. Chani understood the look Chanu gave. Chani explained the
chronology in detail. Starting from he used his power to get friends, horns grew on his head, and he fled to the
forest. hearing Chani's explanation, uncle and Chanu were shocked. His uncle wanted to be angry and punish
him, but he undoed because he saw Chani crying at Chanu's arms. Chani immediately apologized to his uncle
and Chanu. He apologized for not listening to his Uncle and Chanu's words, making them worry. Hearing
Chani's apologies, uncle and Chanu immediately hugged Chani and tried to calm him down.
"Chani don't cry anymore, we forgive you. Actually, uncle wants to scold you, but it doesn't have the
heart because you told the uncle honestly. The most important thing is not to repeat that mistake, uncle doesn't
want it to happen twice. If you have a problem, tell it. Uncle and Chanu will provide a solution., don't save it
yourself, and don't just run away from home, running away won't solve the problem you have, if you are afraid
to tell uncle, you can tell Chanu, understand Chani? " Chani just nodded her head and returned to hug uncle and
Chanu. He has promised not to repeat the same mistake again.
