Subject: Directions and Guidelines for forthcoming Swachchhata Pakhwada during 16-30 September 2019 — regarding. Sir/Madam, This has reference to directions from Ministry of Culture to undertake ‘Swachchhata Pakhwada during 16" to 30" September 2019. | am directed to request you to follow the following directions/ guidelines for forthcoming Swachchhata Pakhwada-2019 to be celebrated from 16 September to 30 September 2019 in and around the protected monuments of Archaeological Survey of India. 1. The Pakhwada shall be taken up at maximum protected monuments/ sites/ museumsioffices. 2. Efforts should be made to include more such monuments/sites, which are not taken up for previous Swachchhata Pakhwada activities. 3. In-charge of Site Museums, Science Branches, Horticulture Branches, Excavation Branches, Prehistory Branch, Temple Survey Projects, Building Survey Project and Epigraphy Branches may also be involved in the ‘Swachchhata Pakhwada activities. 4. Proposed Action Plan format and tentative activities to be carried out in each monument is attached as enclosure. One sheet for each monument is to be filled up and sent to this office. 5. Efforts should be taken for setting up permanent mechanism through new programs and schemes for sustainability of Swachchhata in addition to cleanliness drives during the Pakhwada. 6. Every In-charge of circles/ mini-circles should nominate a suitable officer as nodal officer for effective implementation of Swachchhata Pakhwada related activities and inform this office. 7. The monument premises shall be cleaned and maintained in all respects, including the areas not open for the tourists. 8. Debris/garbage should be cleaned from remote spaces within a monument and places which are not accessible to visitors also need to be cleaned. 9. Area around protected boundary of a monument should also be cleaned to provide a visible aesthetics to the monument. 10.Pakhwada may be organized involving NCC and NSS cadets, local public, students, ASI officials, etc. Page 1of2 11.In-charge of circles! mini-circles shall ensure better branding and publicity of Pakhwada activities in electronic and print media platforms at control area level, e.g. at District level with District Tourism Promotion Council using its online platforms, local T.V. channels, local Newspapers etc. 12.Release of the activity on official website and official social media channel/ page etc. should be done on daily basis 13.There should be a daily reporting of the activities along with photographs during the Pakhwada to the Directorate General, New Delhi at s.pakhwada.asi.2019.20@gmail.com. 14.Each Circle/ Mini Circle shall select a monument considering effective implementation of Swachchhata Pakhwada for “Swachchhata Award” at circle level (one monument). Out of such awarded monument a monument at all India level shall be awarded by DG, ASI. Parameters for “Swachchhata Award” shall be informed in due course. However, any suggestions in this regard are invited. 15.At the conclusion of the Swachchhata Pakhwada the In-charge of circles/ mini-circles are required to submit the following to the Directorate General, ASI, New Delhi i) Report containing detailed account of activities taken under during Swachchhata Pakhwada il) Related picture album, newspaper clippings, press notes, audio-visual clips. ili) Any special document that In-charge of circles/ mini-circles may have issued during the Pakhwada. iv) Atwo minute video clipping of the best Swachchhata program. In the light of above, a detailed Action Plan (monument wise) may be sent to s.pakhwada.asi.2019.20@gmail.com by the evening of 27th August, 2019 positively.
