Instructive for assembly of Closing plates.

 
Project: FULCRUM Project. 
Client: SPG Dry Cool. 
Instructive applicable in referenced main steel structure project. 
 
Raw materials: HDG Sheets 3’ x 8’ and 3’ x 10’ GA 16. 
Tooling: Sheet cutting machinery (manual or electric), measuring tape, masking tape, safety gloves. 
Prepare the HDG sheets for assembly, stacked and available close to the working area. 
 
Instructive. 
1. Taking the dimensions of the assembly wall Mk. C9, in land, horizontal side assembly position (outside), 
starting from left hand side, trial fit the 3’ x 8’ HDG sheets until cover the whole area, keep in mind that 
the edges between sheets are parallel and 5 mm of space, Where is necessary, due the panel geometry 
and area, use the HDG 3’ x 10’ HDG Sheets, fix together using of masking tape to keep the closing plates 
marks in position. 
(Recommendation make 2 or 3 subpanels, for better handling and installing in final position, in this case 
3 subpanels is recommended). 
2. Be sure that the trial fit is squared, and 5 mm approx. spacing between sheets is achieved. 
3. Taking the subpanel formed, use stripes of HDG 16 GA (70 mm width) or 3/8” x 70 mm A‐36 where needs 
to be complete the subpanel from HDG sheets. 
4. Layout the drills for this subassembly HDG sheet – Stripe. 
5. From upper to bottom, install the bolting Self drilling screw (HILTI #00311617 TYPE S_MD 12‐24x2 HWH 
#5 KWIK_COTE BOND WASHER) to fix the subassembly, following the HILTI brand instructive or procedure. 
6. If is necessary a horizontal stripe to fix upper HDG sheets due the panel geometry, install after the vertical 
stripes are completed and bolted. 
7. Follow the same steps for the remaining subpanels. 
8. After completing the subpanels to cover the whole area of C9 wall, prepare the subpanels for assembly 
in the wall (ground or final position). 
9. From upper panel section, start to install the fixation bolting to the panel landing bars, follow the bolting 
HILTI  brand  recommendations  (HILTI  #00311617  TYPE  S_MD  12‐24x2  HWH  #5  KWIK_COTE  BOND 
WASHER). 
10. Install the subpanels with bolting from left hand side section to landing bar in the wall. 
11. Install the subpanels with the bolting right hand section to landing bar in the wall. 
12. Install the subpanels with the bottom side section to landing bar in the wall. 
13. In any time, be sure that the squareness required is achieved. 
14. Cut the extra material where is necessary, and where the design is required, follow the SPG detail drawing 
for better reference. 
 
(Warning: is imperative the use of security gloves, as soon the HDG sheets are trim, the edges are very sharp and 
is possible that cause personal injuries). 
 
15. Visual inspection and release. Follow the same stepd for the remaining walls, until complete modules and 
Unit.
