DAAP is pleased to announce a “Two days workshop
on PASS Reading Enhancement Program and Cognitive
Enhancement program” by Dr.. J.P.Das. This is
intended for practitioners or those professionals who
wish to bring an effective and sustainable change in
the life of children with learning difficulties.
This Program is a great opportunity, for all of us as it is
being conducted by Dr. J.P. Das himself who is a
originator of these programs in the field of disability
rehabilitation.
The program is based on the legendary theory of PASS
(Planning, Attention, Successive and Simultaneous
Processing) of intelligence modelled after Luria’s work.

together to help children,

About Dr. J.P. Das
M.A., Ph.D. (University of London,England) Emeritus Professor,
Educational Psychology. Emeritus Director, J.P.Das
Developmental Disabilities Centre. University of Alberta,
Edmonton, Canada
Current Research interests:

After Dr. J.P. Das retired from teaching, the University of

Alberta appointed him Professor Emeritus of Educational
Psychology and re-named the centre which he directed with
distinction for 22 years in his honour as the J.P. Das
Developmental Disabilities Centre. Dr. J.P. Das has made major
contributions in Teaching research, administration and
community service.

About PREP About COGENT

(PASS Reading Enhancement Program )...
The PASS Reading Enhancement Program(PREP)
improves the information-processing strategies
that underlie reading, while avoiding the direct
teaching of word-reading skills.
(Cognitive Enhancement Training)
Cognitive Enhancement Training is designed for
the enhancement of cognition, phonological
awareness, and language, especially linked to
literacy and school learning.

Accordingly, the program is structured so that Cognitive Enhancement Training(COGENT) is

tacitly acquired strategies are likely to be used by
the children in appropriate ways.
