was Pora Pora ("first born" in Tahitian). It is also called May ti pora ("created by gods").

Bora-Bora is formed by an extinct volcano, surrounded by a lagoon and a strip of reef; also
considered one of the 10 most beautiful islands in the world.

Bora Bora has wonderful beaches where people can visit the lagoon where you can see dolphins,
sharks, matarrayas , and many species of fish. Matira Beach has a beautiful and cozy landscape.
The beach of La Plage in this place people can get married and they know it as the romantic
beach.

French and Tahitian are the main languages spoken by its inhabitants, the attraction of its typical
dishes is the use of coconut in "El Poisson Cru a la Tahitiana", Ma'a tinito, Las Chevrettes and
coconut bread.

Today the island is almost totally dependent on tourism. In the 80s, the Bora Bora Hotel built
the first small houses on the water, on stilts on the lake, and is currently characteristic of the
Bora Bora buildings.
