PAGASA is the Philippine national institution dedicated to
provide flood and typhoon warnings, public weather forecasts and advisories, meteorological, astronomical, climatological, and other specialized information and services primarily for the protection of life and property and in support of economic, productivity and sustainable development. The government agency was created on December 8, 1972 by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 78 reorganizing the Philippine Weather Bureau into PAGASA. Visiting PAG ASA right after visiting PHILVOCS, made me realized how awesome things can happen one at a time. Introducing the systems that they are working makes me think that in just simple ways, can help us determine our weather or maybe even an upcoming forecast. I think it will be great if the system could be more accurate like they’ve said, to be working on one kind of satellite that can be truly legit with our kind of seasons and weather. I can say that it is great to work on some cases like astronomical because that is where people have their curiosity pin-pointed on. With all this, my favorite part is looking at the big screen knowing when the sea level can arise like this, or that. Or maybe even predict the upcoming weather that could enter our area. And I hope that maybe next time, there could be a lot of things that we could try here in PAG-ASA.
