“Movie Review: Inside Out”

Zamora, Nicah Angela L

BSC 1-2
CHARACTERS:
 JOY
Joy’s goal has always been to make sure Riley stays happy. She is
lighthearted, optimistic and determined to find the fun in every
situation. Joy sees challenges in Riley’s life as opportunities, and the
less happy moments as hiccups on the way back to something great.
If Riley is happy, so is Joy.
 FEAR
Fear’s main job is to protect Riley and keep her safe. He is
constantly on the lookout for potential disasters, and spends time
evaluating the possible dangers, and pitfalls and risk involved in
Riley’s everyday activities. There are very few activities and events
that Fear does not find to be dangerous and possibly fatal.
 ANGER
Anger feels very passionately about making sure things are fair for
Riley. He has a fiery spirit and tends to explode (literally) when
things don’t go as planned. He is quick to overreact and has little
patience for life’s imperfections.
 DISGUST
Disgust is highly opinionated, extremely honest and prevents Riley
from getting poisoned- both physically and socially. She keeps a
careful aye on the people, places and things that Riley comes into
contact with- whether that’s broccoli or last year’s fashion trend.
Disgust always has the best of intentions and refuses to lower her
standards.
 SADNESS
None of the other Emotions really understand what Sadness’s role
is. Sadness would love to be more optimistic and helpful in keeping
Riley happy, but she finds it so hard to be positive. Sometimes it
seems like the best thing to do is just lie on the floor and have a
good cry.
 BING BONG
Bing Bong was Riley’s adorable imaginary friend created
during her early childhood. However, as Riley grew older, she
stopped playing with him, leaving Bing Bong out of a job and
a bit lonely.
 RILEY ANDERSEN
Riley Andersen is a major character in the 2015 Disney/Pixar
animated film, Inside Out. She is an 11 (later 12) year old girl
in 6th grade who loves ice hockey. She was uprooted from her
happy and simple life in Minnesota and taken to San
Francisco, California, where she experiences various changes
in her life. Her emotions (Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust, And
Anger) help her through time, ensuring her well-being.
 JILL ANDERSEN
Jill Andersen is a supporting character from the 2015
Disney/Pixar film, Inside Out. She is Riley Andersen’s
mother and Bill’s wife.
 BILL ANDERSEN
Bill Andersen is a supporting character from the 2015
Disney/Pixar film, Inside Out. He is Riley Andersen’s father
and Jill Andersen’s husband.
 MEG
Meg is a minor character from the 2015 Disney/Pixar film,
Inside Out. She is Riley Andersen’s old best friend from
Minnesota.
SYPNOSIS:

The story of Inside Out centers on an 11-year-old girl named Riley Anderson moving
to San Francisco and her five emotions Joy, Sadness, Fear and Anger trying to help
her cope with her new life. The five emotions live in headquarters and control how
Riley feels. When Joy and Sadness are accidentally kicked out of headquarters, they
go on a wild journey to get back.

REACTION:

Inside Out is really a good movie for children and for adults. The movie will make
you understand the situations of children while growing up. The movie Inside Out
is an eye opener for parents to adjust for their children while experiencing
adolescence. Children sometimes depends on their friends that’s why Riley doesn’t
want to move out. Usually friends are the one we run to when we can’t tell our
parents. During adolescence the children encounter problems that they didn’t
encounter during childhood. While facing the problems parents should guide their
children so that the children can know how to handle well a problem. While watching
the movie you’ll be reminded when you’re the one facing the adolescence period
and it’s hard because from being childhood to adulthood is a big jump. It’s hard to
face adulthood because it means you needed to face the reality. You’ll come to the
point that you couldn’t reach out to your parents because you’ll think that you’ll be
a burden to them. You’ll start to mind the things that will help your family and how
will you make them proud. Inside Out will make you realize that not all the time
you’ll be just playing around you need to be serious at some point for your life to be
in a good path. For me when Bing Bong falls to the memories that needed to be
forgotten it is the sign that you needed to forget the things you’re doing while
childhood because we needed to face the reality that we should need to be serious in
our life. It’s time to be on a serious moment because we’re adult already. We needed
to forget our childhood moments because the main reason is WE ARE ALREADY
ADULT. We stopped being a child but we started being adult.
