A RESOLUTION URGING THE CEBU PROVINCIAL POLICE OFFICE (CPPO)

THROUGH POLICE COL. MANUEL JAVIER ABRUGENA, (CPPO DIRECTOR) AND
THE MEDELLIN POLICE STATION THROUGH POLICE MAJOR AUDIE PELAYO TO
CONDUCT A THOROUGH AND ALL-OUT INVESTIGATION ON THE
CONDEMNABLE KILLING OF HON. RICARDO "RICKY" RODRIGUEZ RAMIREZ,
FORMER MAYOR OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEDELLIN, CEBU LAST JUNE 18,
2019 AT BOGO-MEDELLIN CORPORATION MEDICAL CENTER.

WHEREAS, Mayor Ricky was shot dead by more or less 19 armed men in Bogo-
Medellin Corporation Medical Center situated in Barangay Luy-A, Medellin Cebu at
about 11:50 in the evening of June 18, 2019;

WHEREAS, according to initial investigation, there were four (4) vehicles reportedly
arrived at the said hospital and the armed men disarmed the guards including the jail
personnel securing Ramirez;

WHEREAS, according to Police Major Audie Pelayo, Medellin Police Chief, the
gunmen asked a nurse in the said hospital to accompany them to the room of Ramirez
and upon seeing the armed men the latter sought refuge inside his private comfort room
where he was shot to death;

WHEREAS, the killing of Mayor Ramirez is an act of bestiality that continues to infuse
fear to the people but an act of cowardice that still leans on impunity.

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Hon. Sun J. Shimura duly seconded by Hon. Horacio
V. Franco, be it

RESOLVED as it hereby RESOLVED to URGE THE CEBU PROVINCIAL POLICE

OFFICE (CPPO) THROUGH POLICE COL. MANUEL JAVIER ABRUGENA, (CPPO
DIRECTOR) AND THE MEDELLIN POLICE STATION THROUGH POLICE MAJOR
AUDIE PELAYO TO CONDUCT A THOROUGH AND ALL-OUT INVESTIGATION ON
THE CONDEMNABLE KILLING OF HON. RICARDO "RICKY" RODRIGUEZ
RAMIREZ, FORMER MAYOR OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF MEDELLIN, CEBU LAST
JUNE 18, 2019 AT BOGO-MEDELLIN CORPORATION MEDICAL CENTER.

Resolved further, to furnish copy of this resolution to the bereaved family of the late
Hon. Ricardo "Ricky" Rodriguez Ramirez and to Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO)
and to Medellin Police Station.
