BANGALORE UNIVERSITY
THEME
This forms an important ingredient of education at MBA programme of
Bangalore University. It is an attempt to bridge the gap between professional world
and academic institution.
MBA students at the end of 2nd semester have to undergo this programme for the
duration of four weeks. It would be a simulation of real work environment. It
expects the students to experience the rigor of professional environment in form
and substance. It also develops technical, social and communication skills among
students.
ARRANGEMENT
The organizations where Internship can be done are Large, Small and Medium
scale enterprises, NGOs, Development agencies, Government Departments, Local
bodies and Universities.
This is a vehicle for introducing students to real life culture which cannot be
simulated in the classroom. Therefore, the projects must necessarily be those of
direct interest to the host organization. The projects have to be multi-disciplinary
and goal focused. It will be worthwhile if they can also find time bound solution to
the problems/challenges in Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Systems and
General Organizational profile. This is an addition to a detailed study of the
organization aspects like history, progress, performance, product profile, SWOT, 7s
Framework, industry profile etc.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION
The project has to be finalized by the students in consultation with the identified
executive of the organization and faculty guide. The progress and working of the
students has to be certified by the concerned executive in the prescribed format
(Proforma enclosed).
At the end of the project, the organization has to issue a letter of completion of
internship in their organization. It is advisable for the student to maintain a work
diary. Later on, the faculty would evaluate the report submitted by the student.
