GLOBAL YOUTH SUMMIT 2019

(Narrative Report)
Last Aug 17,2019, as part of our NSTP subject, we participated the annual celebration of
Global youth Summit held by different organization like UNICEF and in partnership of SM
foundation. The program were held at Mall of Asia Arena at exactly 1:00 o clock in the afternoon
but the administration start to its registration as early as 12:00 in the afternoon. Its already 1:00
o clock as we entered the arena, there are already a hundred in number of people seating from
the first floor up to the general admission were we also designated to seat. Honestly, it was my
first time to attend in such a big event the participated by different schools and universities
around the metro manila. It was unexpected that this event actually exist and also the number of
people that join is not a small but a massive that almost occupied the whole arena.
After a minute of waiting, the program begin by the warm welcome of the host and the
introduction of the program proper. After the national anthem ,it was followed by the prayer held
by the organizer. Then the main program was opened by a welcome message from Mr. Royce
Cabunag, the program Director of SM Care. According to Mr. Cabunag, “ as a youth and part of
this community, we should make something to change our society into a better state. Possibly it
start only in simple dreams but the courage to make it happen can change after all”. It was a very
good opening message at the same time an eye opener for everyone. After that message, the
whole arena was captivated and jammed with the famous band “Gracenote” who perform their
songs like bkit ganyan ka?, That’s what you get, and so much more. While their performing
everyone sing with them ,hopping & head banging with their friends. Even were at the top
position, we also jammed through clapping and waving our cellphone with light on it.
After the intermission no., The next person who talk is Mr. David Caprara ,vice president
of Global peace, that aim to challenge and pursue people in doing something to address their
problems. One thing that I love to his speech is the part were he gave inspiration and motivation
to not lose their dreams. He also tackle that we can do something for us to change or to achieve
any goals that we’ve want just trust and make things possible. It was a good speech coming from
a successful person that really pushes us to do more. The next to the list of speaker is Teacher
Nelia Cruz Sarcol, Founder of british school global peace woman phil. In her speech, teacher Nelia
tackles about on how we can be a hero in our society now. As a youth, we already have that
impact that we are slowly creating. Even if where in school, we can be a hero in our own way.
Teacher nelia also takes place the topic of becoming the part of this society. Not all people are
willing to help you anytime , you cannot blame them cause that their live but according to Mrs.
Nelia, to have a sympathy is really a choice it will depend on the people. Most of peopla use to
forget this stuff because of its focus to their goal. But true success is not that just you reach your
goals rather it will become meaningful if you did your part also to help other to grow. I felt that
phrase cause we really forget that piece, we are focus on making us on the top.
After of the first three welcome message from different leaders, the talks of different
personality around the globe who will address specific topics that we youth are facing right now.
 The first who gives his speech was Dado Danatao, executive director of aim educ, topic
why he was at his state now and why he advocate for the better future of filipinos. Mt. Banatao
is the creator of dreamagineer , says that making something really makes sense. He also thought
that sympathy exist because not all are in good condition. Some of us are born two have a silver
spoon in their mouth and reality some are incapability. If Banatao talk about why we help and
why helping exist, Mrs. Gia Sison of CNN Philippines topic the different services that youth are
already has the right be serve under the law. Mrs. Sison proposed a named called radical mental
health care where it focuses on the ideology that once should take of his/her own life before
helping others. This concept that tells we can never help or even give if we our self are also need
in help. And I guess that’s a really good point that should always be considered. For the 3rd
speaker, Secretary Bernadette Romulo Puyat-Romulo of tourism phil.. Her speech focuses on how
our youth now can help the society in facing challenges. Sec.Romulo believes that thorug the help
of the youth in this new generation we can easily overcome the hindrances a long the way of
progression. The next speaker that talks is an actress and now a ambassador of SGD 14 and
founder of planet Cora. And it is Mrs. Antoinette Taus that also talks on making small things to
change the existing problem that were facing. She tells that even before she start in just a small
step by as time pass by, those steps to become a not just a mark but a path were she knows will
be the better thing to do with. Mr. Gregg Auberry,CEO of Consuelo Foundation also gives his
speech about youth capability. Youth now is more powerful than weve know. In this years that
were sharing, Mr. Auberry believes that the life of the future is already in our hand. The answers
from the questions are in the key of the youth. We everyone will only participate and respect
everyone life it will not going to be that hard to provide a definite solution in those problems. And
for the last speaker, the Famous actress Anne Curtis takes the last speech for that evening. Anne
curtis is the ambassador of UNICEF phil, and currently advocating programs that helps the youth
in our country. The speech of Anne lock at the Stuffs that youth are facing right now Specially
when it comes to technology. Technology honestly speaking produce a lot of service that really
helps us in our daily life. Communication, jobs and also information are provided by the
technology and this is the largest platform where kids and young children were living. But as the
time past , it seems technology is not that safe as the real world. It became dangerous as
technology became open to everyone. And the reason that youth is at this platform it is a big
issue. That’s why youth like us should make this platform as a safe place for everyone. Avoid using
of technology to create and produce more conflict. If we can only use this technology in good
deeds, it will never questioned that it will going to help the incoming generation to address the
continues problem of the system.
Every speech that weve watch teaches us different lesson on how we youth can help the
society. It is not how old you are or how rich you are but rather how can you provide or put
something to change something. After the speeches, the I belong to the zoo performs there
greatest hits that makes the crowd a live and wild that makes noise inside the arena. It already
6:00 pm in the evening when the program ends. It is a very unforgettable experience that we hope
we become a part of it soon.
