MODEL 963, 964

with CODE G3Y (Turbo retarder clutch)

Location

A69 Turbo retarder clutch control unit

(CCM)

W25.50-1088-76

The turbo-retarder clutch (CCM) control unit (A69) is located in the Ventilation pressure sensor (B89)
electronics compartment on the passenger side. Turbine wheel rpm sensor (B93)
Task Oil temperature sensor (B90)
General Coolant temperature sensor (B91)
When starting off, the turbo-retarder clutch (CCM) control unit (A69) Electrical actuation of solenoid valves of turbo-retarder clutch
communicates directly over the drive train CAN (CAN 4) with the To actuate the turbo-retarder clutch the turbo-retarder clutch (CCM)
transmission control unit (TCM) (A5) and it receives torque requests control unit (A69) actuates the following solenoid valves:
from it to match the accelerator pedal position. These are then realized Proportional valve (Y23)
by a filling oil accordingly into the turbo-retarder clutch's working Quick drain solenoid valve (Y24)
chamber.
Turbine wheel brake solenoid valve (Y48)
In normal driving mode, the turbo-retarder clutch (CCM) control unit
(A69) ensures that the gear change procedure is not impaired by any
charging of the working chamber in the turbo-retarder clutch or any
unintended rotation of the turbine wheel.
In retarder mode the turbo-retarder clutch (CCM) control unit (A69)
must ensure that the brake torque required by the drive control (CPC)
control unit (A3) over the drive train CAN (CAN 4) is supplied through
charging oil into the working chamber of the turbo-retarder clutch.
To record and evaluate electric sensor signals and switch signals
The electric signals of the following sensors and switches are recorded
and evaluated directly:
