50 jaar Planologie aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen

› 2 juli 2018 van 13.30 –17.30 uur (Blauwe Zaal, Duisenberg gebouw)

50 jaar geleden, op 2 juli 1968, trad prof GJ van den Berg in dienst van de Rijksuniversiteit
Groningen en kreeg als leeropdracht ‘Planologie & Demografie’. Van den Berg z’n interesse
bleek vooral bij de planologie te liggen. Z’n opvolger prof Henk Voogd zette vervolgens in
op de Technische Planologie. Zie hier een ontwikkeling die 50 jaren later zal resulteren in
3 afzonderlijke opleidingen in de planologie.

50 years of Spatial Planning at the University of Groningen

50 years ago, on the 2nd of July 1968, Prof GJ van den Berg was appointed at the University
of Groningen to lecture ‘Planologie & Demografie’. Van den Berg made it quite clear that
his immediate interest was spatial planning. His successor Prof Henk Voogd appreciated a
specifically ‘technical’ attitude to planning. It was this development that has resulted in
three separate programmes in spatial planning.
