CHP191 – IET600/ITT600 for IEC 61850

Integration & Testing – System Engineering

Course goal
The participants acquire in-depth application knowledge to integrate IEC 61850 IEDs into an ABB or 3rd
a SA system. The goal is to set-up the process of integration using the system integration tool IET600
and to be able to use the appropriate workflow to engineer and commission a sample system (training
system). The system is based on Relion® IED670 or IED650, ITT600 as test client and MicroSCADA client.

Main learning objectives Topics

The participants will be able to: — Summary of the communication standard
— State most important features of IEC 61850 IEC 61850 important for system integrators
— Explain the IEC 61850 integration process us- including the substation configuration de-
ing the system integration tool IET600 scription language files (SCL files)
— Identify all important features of product in- — Import/Export of scl data (icd/cid/iid/scd
tegration into an ABB or 3rd party SA system files)
— Perform the integration of a sample system — Dataset, GCB, RCB modification/creation
— Setting up GOOSE communication example and dataflow definition
(e.g. Reservation, interlocking, BFP Breaker — Adding Station and/or gateway client
Failure Protection) — Building a sample REC670 control applica-
— Set the integrated and engineered system tion based on predefined template
into operation (commissioning) — Loading down the relevant parts of the SCD
— Trouble shoot IEC61850 communication by file with help of the product tool into the
usage of the ITT600 tool suite from ABB for product used in the training system
system testing and debugging — The practical use of ITT600 for testing and
commissioning of the training system in-
