Dollywood Announces Largest Expansion Ever: Wildwood Grove

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (December 28, 2018) – Dollywood is proud to present: Wildwood

Grove, the largest and most engaging expansion Dollywood has ever seen. Explore like never

before in 2019, when Wildwood Grove opens.

“Wildwood Grove allows you to experience the Smokey’s like you never have before,”

says park owner Dolly Parton, “This addition to my home is quickly becoming the best parts of

Dollywood. It is everything I ever imagined it to be: Fun, enchanting, and exciting!”

Wildwood Grove will feature 11 new attractions, including six new rides: The fast and

whimsical DragonFlier suspends you in the air and flies you through the Smokey’s, allowing you

to explore in a brand-new way. The Black Bear Trail lets you ride on the back of friendly black

bears to hike through Wildwood Grove.

Sycamore Swing allows you to board a leaf boat crafted by fairies and enjoy a swing.

Treetop Tower gives you a view of Wildwood Grove and spins you around at the top of the giant

oak tree. The Mad Mockingbird is happy to give you a speedy ride through the trees, and even

lets you control it! Finally, the Frogs and Fireflies race each other in a roundabout ride that

allows you to hop on and participate too.

“After stepping through an ancient hollow log into this hidden land, you step right into

imagination and exploration,” says Parton. “We say that this is where adventure takes root and

dreams take flight, and that couldn’t be more true. My inspirations for this expansion were

simple: I wanted to make a place that felt like a magical experience where you could explore and

imagine together.”

With fun characters roaming the park like Benjamin Bear, Franklin Frog, and Flit and

Flutter, magical and imagination are not far behind. Underneath the limbs of the great Wildwood

Tree, you will find where adventure and dreams meet.

The new expansion also includes Hidden Hollow, a 4,000 square foot indoor play area,

and Wildwood Creek, a splash-and-play area included with water jets and wading pools, as well

as a new restaurant called Till and Harvest. Feast on southern grilled cooking out in the garden

among the vegetation, or inside the cozy cabin. Till and Harvest will offer a new Smokey

Mountain Mexican menu as well.

At the end of the night in Wildwood Grove, gather around Wildwood Tree and watch it

come to life. There are endless adventures awaiting in Dollywood’s newest addition Wildwood
