CORRELATION BETWEEN NUTRITIONAL STATUS AND CONSUMPTION PATTERN WITH HYPERTENSION STATUS IN PUSKESMAS CEMPAKA WORKING REGION IN BANJARBARU IN 2018 (Siti Mas’odah, S.Pd., M.Gizi) xii + 96 pages + 32 tables + 2 pictures + 7 attachments The decreasing of body’s organ functions will occur in elderly where the more old the body it will be easier to gain illness and hypertension is one of it. The most hypertension in elderly is isolated systolic hypertension which is if SBP (Systolic Blood Pressure) ≥140 mmHg and DBP (Diastolic Blood Pressure) ≥ 90 mmHg. The aim of this study is to determine the correlation between nutritional status and consumption pattern with hypertension status in Puskesmas Cempaka working region in Banjarbaru. This was an observational analytic research with cross sectional design. The population of this study was elderly which had registered in Puskesmas Cempaka in Banjarbaru with total sample was 67 respondents which is taken by accidental method. This research was using Chi Square Correlation to analyse the data with α = 0,05 to determine the correlation between nutritional status and consumption pattern with hypertension status. The result of this research showed that there was correlation between nutritional status with hypertension status (p = 0,01). There was correlation between consumption pattern (sodium, fat, caffeine, vegetables and fruits) with with hypertension status in elderly in Puskesmas Cempaka working region in Banjarbaru. Patients with hypertension should reduce food which contains a lot of sodium ≥2400 mg/day, fat source >67g/day, caffeine source >400 mg/day and increase consumption of rich fiber food like vegetables and fruits, also do healthy lifestyle like walking and elderly gymnastics.
