The Scarecrow and the Sparrows

This story is about sparrows who live peacefully in the Pablo’s rice field. The sparrows was
spending all their time in the rice field to play with the straw and feeding themselves by
picking the paddies, but unfortunately Pablo the farmer did not like them. Pablo was very
angry every time he saw his paddies were broken down poorly by the sparrows. Until one
day, Pablo made a scarecrow to chase away the sparrows. As usual, on the next day, the
sparrows flew away and chattering one another in the rice field. They sing a song together,
dancing freely in the air. Knowing there are sparrows, the scarecrow start to creeped his face
and screaming to the sparrows “aargghh” the sparrow hear it and spontaneously they run
away quickly. The sparrows were scare of that sound, thought it was Pablo the farmer got
angry with them. One day later, the sparrows came to the rice field again to picking the
paddies. They saw the scarecrow stood up in the rice field, but they did not care enough about
him. Yet in their mind, it was a straw-made doll stood up in the rice field. One of the
sparrows came lately out from the flock. The sparrow flew and just perched on the shoulder
of the scarecrow accidentally. He was perching while watching other sparrows flew
beautifully in the rice field. The scarecrow was awaked because he felt something on his
shoulder. The scarecrow and the sparrow were looking each other. The sparrow starring at the
scarecrow started to recognize what kind of thing was this besides him. Sooner, the scarecrow
switched his cute face into creepy face. The sparrow shock to see his face, and flew away as
fast as possible. Seeing there were lots of sparrows in the rice field, the scarecrow screamed
on them. The sparrows were afraid of that sound. They flew away and coming back to their
nest. One sparrow who knew about the creepy scarecrow told others sparrows about this
fidgetiness. It has been a long time the sparrows never came to the rice field anymore. Pablo
was very happy saw his paddies were okay. He thankful to the scarecrow by praising, he said
“Oh, my scarecrow I thank you for keeping my paddies from the sparrows. You are great rice
field keeper ever” the scarecrow was delighted and answering to his old man “My pleasure,
I’m just doing my obligation sir” accidentally, one sparrow heard the conversation between
Pablo and the scarecrow. The sparrow realized that the scare was not intentionally screaming
on them. Pablo told the scarecrow to do so. As day goes by, the scarecrow just stood in the
rice field. He was very lonely. There was no sparrow anymore flying and dancing in the rice
field. Day by day, the scarecrow was fragile. His straw-made body was eroded by the wind
and burning gradually by the sunshine. The sparrows saw the poor scarecrow up from the
tree. The sparrows were mad, and another sparrow muttering “Poor scarecrow was going to
die” Other sparrows agree, said “Quick, quick, quick” but another sparrow who knew that the
scarecrow was not totally wrong, said to the flock that the scarecrow need a help. The
sparrow told all the things that he had heard and inviting the flock to help the scarecrow.
Others sparrows believed and wanted to help the scarecrow. They worked together to help the
scarecrow by stringing the straw up. The scarecrow touched by the kindness of the sparrow.
The scarecrow felt sorry for scaring them and apologizing of what he had done. The sparrows
accepted his apologize and wanted to be his friend. As day goes by, the scarecrow and the
sparrows were friend that the scarecrow can see the sparrows flew and dance beautifully,
while the sparrow can pick up the paddies. Once the scarecrow screamed to them, but they
took it as a challenged for them in getting the feed not a threat anymore.
