“ The Possible Career of TVL Students After Senior High Graduation”

Prospect Theory

Prospect theory is a behavioral model that shows how people decide between
alternatives that involve risk and uncertainty (e.g. % likelihood of gains or losses). It
demonstrates that people think in terms of expected utility relative to a reference point
(e.g. current wealth) rather than absolute outcomes. Prospect theory was developed by
framing risky choices and indicates that people are loss-averse; since individuals
dislike losses more than equivalent gains, they are more willing to take risks to avoid a
loss.

This theory supports our research, which is “The Possible Career of TVL
Students After Senior High Graduation.” Because in Prospect Theory, it shows how
people decide between alternatives that involve risk and uncertainty. In short, this
theory proves that the way of thinking of every people can either affect or help them in
choosing a right career path they are going to take after senior high graduation. This
theory supports the thought about taking risks is much better to regret and had loss of
something.
