Title: Duo Drop Generator cleaning procedure

Summary
Step by step instruction on how to take the drop generator apart and clean it

Problem
Drop generators getting clogged with ink when the printer has not been shut down properly or
used for an extended periods of time.

Solution
Before performing this procedure, make sure that you have performed the “Clear Nozzle”

routine under the Diagnostics screen.

1. Power the printer off.

2. Remove Drop Generator from printhead.

3. Lift C spring cover to expose C spring

4. With a sharp and sturdy object push C spring away from Drop Generator to

release the Nozzle Solenoid


5. Be aware of the small O-Ring that sits between the Nozzle solenoid and the Drop

Generator

6. Separate Nozzle Solenoid from Drop Generator

7. Separate the Nozzle Solenoid from the Nozzle Solenoid Plunger

8. Clean all components from dried ink until clean. Make sure that none of the

electrical connections are covered in any solvents.

9. Ensure that the Nozzle Solenoid Plunger Moves freely in the Drop Generator

cavity.

10. Reassemble the component in its entirety.

11. Install the Drop Generator assembly in the printhead and power the printer on.

12. Test the nozzle solenoid to verify that it is 100% operational.
