QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF BIRTH CHARTS

ABSTRACT:
Here is ADIYEN’s humble attempt to reckon the Power Number or Characteristic Number of an
Individual calculated from the position of various planets in the Birth Chart. Same rules can also be
applied to a transit chart. Attempt has been made to forecast predictions based on the impact of
individual planets. The rules are simple and easy to apply. Enjoy. Rules for reckoning positive and
negative impacts were updated. Calculated Modified Power Number and updated birthday forecast.
This revised version includes the Navamsa Chart and its power number. This power is an indication
of quality of married life and progeny. Further calculation of aspects from both Birth chart and
Navamsa chart are included. Concluding how aspects are related to the time line of events in one’s
life this article makes interesting reading.

Sun = Su = 8+0 = 8,
Moon = Mo = 2+4 = 6,
Mercury = Me = 2+4 = 6,
Venus = Ve = 1+4 = 5,
Mars= Ma= 2+0 = 2,
Jupiter = Ju = 9+0 =9,
Saturn = Sa = 8+0=8,
Rahu = Ra = 7+0=7
Ketu = Ke = 0+4= 4

e) Calculation of Power of Sample 1 birth chart

Simple rules:
• Ascendant is always located in House No. 1.
• When a planet is located in a house which is not a factor or multiple of its power number
it is taken as debilitated and its power is taken as negative.
• When an odd powered planet occupies an even numbered house without a common
factor it is taken as negative.
• Sun’s power in all houses is taken as positive.
• Any planet in 1st house is always positive.
• Modified Power number takes into account the constellations in which the planets are
placed. It is a supplementary indication of quality of life.

f) With reference to Sample 1 birth chart the power number is as follows:

Power number of Sample 1 birth chart = 139 = 1+3+9 = 13 = 4

Modified Power number =718 = 7
Birth number calculated from DoB and ToB = 1+8+4=13=4
Navamsa power = 1 successful married life

g) Power number of 4 denotes highly resilient character.

h) Modified Power number of 7 is indicative of only a few but intense friends.
i) Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Mercury, Venus and Ketu are strong. Their positive impacts will be
enhanced.
j) Rahu, Mars, and Saturn are weak. Their negative impacts will be enhanced.

2) PREDICTIONS BASED ON BIRTH CHART
a) Moon governs emotional stability. Moon in house no.1 with power of 6 indicates low
emotional stability.
b) Rahu is negative resulting in thwarted efforts.
c) Jupiter with a positive score indicates good academic career.
d) Sun with a positive score indicates success inspite of hurdles.
e) Mars with a negative score indicates angry and abrasive personality with relationship issues.
f) Mercury with a positive score indicates good communication ability.
g) Venus with a positive score indicates good life and worldly pleasures.
h) Ketu with a positive score balances Rahu’s negativity and gives some measure of success.
i) Saturn with a negative score indicates a life of hurdles.

3) QUANTIFYING BIRTH CHART ASPECTS

An aspect is the relationship between planets on either end of a straight line across the birth
chart. Impact of an aspect is calculated as follows:

Aspect = Power of stronger planet – Power of Aspected planet

Arranging aspects in an ascending order of absolute numbers and adding the year of birth gives
an ordered timeline to which significant events from the past can be assigned. Accuracy of this
trace is +/- 1 year. The error is significant in the case of those born in the last and first quarter as
there is an overlap of biological age over two calendar years.

Navamsa aspects are calculated in a similar manner from the Navamsa chart. Merging the two
timelines gives a Consolidated Timeline of Events. Following trends can be noted:

a) Not all life events are captured by aspects.

b) Accuracy of prediction is +/- 1 year
c) If a time line is repeated it signifies different events during the same year.
d) A pair of same year signifies stressful event followed by health issue.
