Up ‘Till Midnight

How was your day? What did you do today? Are you tired from
school? What are you doing right now? Lying in bed? Browsing through
your social media accounts?

Have you ever wanted to organize your school life? Just like other
students? Making your to-do lists, preparing your things the night before
your school day, sleeping with no worries, and waking up with fresh face
are what most students wanted. But, why is it not happening? Why are
you still on your bed doing nothing? Why everything is still delayed? Why
are you procrastinating?

Okay. Go on. Let us talk about it.

Are you procrastinating because of network surfing, Mobile

Legends, fear, or laziness? “Procrastination is not just a human problem.
The entire universe procrastinates. But just because procrastination is
universal doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. And too often, we find ourselves
procrastinating when we know we shouldn’t.” (Hendriksen, Ph.D., 2018)
Hey. You know that you have a lot to do, right? You know that you need
to do it but you cannot get things done – worse is you do not know why.
Then, stress and frustration get in your way and you’ll tweet something
about this on Twitter or post on your Instagram stories. You end up doing
your tasks finished at the last minute. But, those outputs were not the best,
aren’t they? Don’t worry, sweetie. I have been there and done that. Well,
everyone does procrastinate. And, you can overcome procrastination by
saying yes.

How long does it take for you to finish your task? Is it half a day, a
whole day, or an all-night?

Procrastination takes control over you. It consumes you. A battle

starts within your mind and your whole body – your whole system gets
affected. For example, your paper works are assigned on a particular
date and the days are long enough before the due date. So, you will
have a lot of time to work on this. But, as soon as you decide to make your
time productive, something inside of you says no – it pulls you off to go
easy and have fun. Then, you find yourself lying in bed for hours, sitting in
your chair, or standing in front of the refrigerator. Why? Because you
allowed doing as it pleased. As the deadline gets too close, you panic.
This will result to unhappiness and regrets. But, if ever you don’t feel
motivated to do a task, just remember that you are capable. No matter
what other people say and think about you, no matter how big or small
the responsibilities are, never forget that you are capable.

Calm down and just do it already. There’s no hassle.

You’re doing great, sweetie! I’m proud of you.
