Uses of Relaxation Exercise

People use relaxation techniques for the following reasons, among others:

1. Anger management

Anger is frequently a result of frustration, or of feeling blocked. Anger can also be a defensive

response to underlying fear or feelings of vulnerability or powerlessness.

Psychosocial factors such as stress, abuse, poor social or familial situations, and poverty can

cause anger problems, such as “Trauma” A history of trauma, particularly sexual trauma, can

result in anger management problems.

Depression can affect a person's thoughts, behavior, tendencies, feelings, and sense of well-

being. Psychological factors a depressed mood is a normal temporary reaction to life events, such

as the loss of a loved one. It is also a symptom of some physical diseases and a side effect of

some drugs and medical treatments. Depressed mood may also be a symptom of some mood

disorders such as major depressive disorder.

5. General well-being

It is a standard level that consists of the expectations of an individual or society for a good life.

These expectations are guided by the values, goals and socio-cultural context in which an
individual lives. It is a subjective, multidimensional concept that defines a standard level for

emotional, physical, material and social well-being.
