1. Read your poem silently.
2. Predict what it talks about. You may write or draw your answer.
3. Look for words or phrases that helped you make your predictions. Do not let the other
group hear or know your answers. Work cooperatively with your group.
4. Write your answers on the paper provided.
5. When you are done, choose one representative to show/pass your answer to the teacher.
6. As your teacher call your group, read the poem with your group mates in front of the
class and wait for your teacher’s next instructions.

Jeroll always wants to have a puppy. One night, his father brings home a newborn
puppy he has asked from one of their neighbors. It is so cute. It has a soft body with tiny
legs. Jeroll is very happy and excited. Since then, Jeroll takes care of the puppy. Every day,
he feeds and bathes it. He even shares his own milk with it.

Jenny loves ice cream very much. Every day she spends half of her allowance for ice
cream. She just can’t resist the delicious and refreshing taste of ice cream. One day, while
Jenny is eating her newly-bought ice cream, her classmate accidentally bumps onto her.
Jenny drops her ice cream on the dirty floor. The ice cream cannot be eaten anymore.
