Industry Standards conditions in a gulf coast environment, they corroded and fractured, separating the valve body. The left
RBI Procedure capscrew fractured due to hydrogen embrittlement cracking through the complete cross section. The right
capscrew initially fractured due to hydrogen embrittlement then propagated due to tensile overload. Both
COMPANY fractures started at the bottom of the photograph.

Industry Standards turbine. The blade suffered hot corrosion from exposure to molten sodium sulfate. The
RBI Procedure exfoliated, porous O.D. scale can be seen at the top of the photograph with sulfide
particles in the white layer underneath. The base metal contains unresolved brown gamma
COMPANY prime particles in the nickel alloy matrix. Electrolytic CrO3, 400 X.
