MATERIAL NAME

Ultrachrome® 27%Cr WMD CODE: A05

COLOUR GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Golden Yellow Alloy A05 is a wear resistant white cast iron
MATERIAL TYPE that offers excellent performance under
erosive conditions. The alloy can be
27%Cr White Cast Iron effectively used in a wide range of slurry
types. The high wear resistance of alloy A05
RELATED STANDARDS is provided by the presence of hard carbides
AS 2027 Grade Cr27 in the microstructure. Alloy A05 is
ISO 21988 Grade Cr27 particularly suited to mild acidic duties where
ASTM A532 Grade IIIA erosion resistance is required.

PARTS AVAILABILITY
Most wet-end parts can be manufactured in
TYPICAL MICROSTRUCTURE alloy A05.
The microstructure of Alloy A05 consists of

plate liner inserts, bowls and doors.
A small amount of retained austenite may be
present in the final microstructure. A05 is
heat treated to develop high hardness and
optimum erosion resistance.
SERVICE RECOMMENDATIONS
Alloy A05 can be used for pumping a wide
range of mildly acidic duties. The alloy gives
excellent wear life for a variety of particle
size and hardness.
