Leadership theories
The literature on leadership is numerous – it dates back to Aristotle, Plato, Confucius,
Sun Tzu and Machiavelli. Among the popular theories are trait, transformational and
transactional, and distributed leadership. Other popular theories are situational
leadership, contingency theory and leader-member exchange.
