written by Swati Khandelwal. Nowadays, there are many cybersecurity threats faced by
organizations. The article indicates that there are more than 80 Magecart compromised e-
commerce websites which are involved in sending credit card information to the attackers. This
credit card information is basically related to online shoppers. These compromised websites are
reputable brands operating their businesses in different countries revealed information in a

Magecart attacks are basically one of the major threat to e-commerce websites. It represents
cybercriminal groups involved in implanting online credit card skimmers on compromised e-
commerce websites for stealing information related to the payments. [ CITATION Swa19 \l 2057
] They insert JavaScript code into a compromised website, on the shopping cart page with the
intent to steal the payment information and send it to the remote attacker. Due to the absence of
code protection, they can easily uncover more than 80 e-commerce websites compromised.

I have learned that online shoppers should update their credentials and regularly review their
payment card details. Whenever there is an unauthorized transaction, the online shoppers should
report it to the financial institutions immediately. The e-commerce websites should update their
platform software to the latest version.
