You Are Not An Afterthought

Dharylie Ruth Bribon

You are not an afterthought! You deserve better than someone who is afraid
to commit to you, or spend time with you. It may seem like enough for now, but
it’s definitely not. You’re just taking things slow or waiting to see what happens.
You believe them, and I’ve believed them. But you are not an afterthought.
You need to know that you’re not an invisible man standing there and get
chosen last. You’re a first-pick of man. And no one worth having with someone
around to those girls/boys while just haying sits back. I’m sure you’ve said the
following excuses “But I’m scared” and “ We don’t like labels.” You are not a man
who needs to make excuses for them! If the man is into you, he/she will spend
every waking day moment with you. And you will never make excuses to him/her.
You are not a substitute, average or second string. You’re a catch. Stop being
afraid that you are not worthy enough to be claimed. Don’t even consider the lie
that say’s “I can’t, I can’t set my standard too high, because if I do, I might end up
alone.” It’s better to be alone than taken for granted. It’s better to be alone than to
be a placeholder. You should not be nobody’s second’s choice. The man that
makes you feel loved is the one you need. The one who’s not afraid to say that
he/she loves you. Find the man that who will shout your name. A man who will
tell you the worth word and promises. And you can guarantee that he/she will not
stop until you know exactly what he/she feels for you. And you’ll believe him/her.
Never, ever forget your own self-worth. Take nothing else and nothing less. Do
note to yourself that none of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop
treating yourself like an afterthought. Say the truth that you’re carrying in your
heart like hidden treasure. Be silly, be kind, and be weird. There’s no time for
anything else. You are not an afterthought! You are a highly sought after,
precious gift that God purchased for himself, until you realize how precious and
loved you are, you can’t begin to love others the way you’ve been commanded.
Jesus said in Matthew 22:39 “Love others as well as you love yourself.”
