 COURSE DESCRIPTION

VISUAL TESTING –VT PENETRANT TESTING-PT

Visual testing is a Non-Destructive testing method in which
the reflected or transmitted light from a test object is
imaged with a light sensitive device. This is the oldest
method of all NDT methods. No special equipment
required for visual inspection. It can be done using low
power magnifying glass, fiberscope or camera systems. This
visual inspection can be done in combination with other
methods of NDT.
MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING-MT
Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) is part of non destructive
testing for detecting the surface and sub surface defects in
ferrous materials. It is done by applying an external
magnetic field or electric current through the ferrous
materials. The defect in the ferrous materials is found using
the principle of magnetic flux which will leave the area
where the flaw is located. The magnetic flux will leave the
area where there is flaw. The common method of magnetic
particle inspection uses finely powdered ferric or ferric oxide
particles in an appropriate liquid, most often kerosene. The
particles are often colored or coated with fluorescent dyes
that can be made visible with UV light.
ULTRASONIC TESTING-UT
Ultrasonic Testing is a non destructive testing where,
very short ultrasonic pulse-waves with frequencies
ranging from 0.2-25 MHZ are launched into materials to
detect internal flaws in both contact & immersion
testing. The technique is also commonly used to
determine the thickness of the testing objects, for
example, to monitor corrosion inside pipes. This test is
performed on ferric or other metals.
This method of non destructive testing for materials those
are nonporous in nature. It is based on the capillary action,
where surface tension fluid low penetrates into clean and
dry surface breaking the discontinuities.
The penetrating liquid is applied to the surface of the
material and after 10 to 30 minutes the excess liquid is
wiped and a developer is applied to draw the penetrant out
of defects. Then a white light or UV is used to perform the
inspection which shows the location, shape, and size of the
flaw.
RADIOGRAPHIC TESTING-RT
Radiographic testing (RT), or Industrial Radiography, is a Non
Destructive Testing (NDT) method of inspecting materials for
hidden defects by using the ability of short wavelength
electromagnetic radiation to penetrate various materials. It is mostly
used to find the defect in the weld by using X-ray Machine &
Gamma Ray Camera to penetrate the materials. The rays are
captured on the other side using radiographic films or sensors. The
beam of radiation passes through defect and produces a latent
image in the films with varying densities according to the amount of
radiation reaching the other side of the material.
PREPARATORY COURSES:
 CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
We offer preparatory classes for CSWIP 3.1&3.2 for the students
appearing for TWI examinations. The course is designed in
accordance with TWI, UK CSWIP syllabus. The course contents
are discussed in depth and delivered in simple and easy way to
enable that every student understands the lecture and subject. Our
teaching methods & mock test will make the students to excel in
the TWI examination.
