BOOK REVIEW of
The early History of ROME

The book is all about the Rome early history. And this book is obviously a history book and its
mission is to inform the readers about the events and epic things that happened in Rome
before. And it is interesting why? Because the author of this incredible book that I’m so lucky
that I actually found was Livy yes he is the author of this book and he is the main idea why this
book arrived up to the present. And from the authors background Livy is from the Rome itself
and he actually lived in that events and date s that’s why he successfully wrote this book. And
he actually somehow experience or see the state of Rome before. Though it was somehow
transcribe by other writers to expand the thoughts of Livy. It was amazing for me because there
is still what I’ll call the fragrance of past in that book. From what I read in the book the author’s
background is really amazing because he lived in Italy in 59 B.C or possibly 64 B.C and though he
exempted himself in going to the university in Greece were romans did he actually studies the
philosophy and according to the Seneca or (controversiae X praef.) he wrote a philosophical
dialogues and other traditional subjects which made me admired him and his book more. And
what really amazes me is that because of his devotion to writing history of Rome in 9 B.C he use
or passed his life writing the happenings in the Rome which later will became the most
powerful empire of the world before. And know what more amazing the book that he writes
which comprised 142 books and the only still exist up to the present is 35 books which means
I’m lucky to have this book and more importantly it happened the stories from book it
happened in the past and it is documented which makes me more amaze. Maybe they would
ask what is the evidence that it really happened in the past? Or maybe there would be a doubt
that it would be just any other book that is edited but this book that I have had evidences in the
first page that would make you more convince. And there is also a background history of the
Rome maybe for the readers to be aware of the things that happened in the past city of the
former empire Rome. So this book contains the half-life of Rome why? It’s simply because this
was the start of everything. The founding of the Rome the how the republic of Rome achieved
the internal struggling of this and soon to be empire. This is the parts of the book that will tell
somehow the foundation of Rome. Also the book contains the story of the famous brothers
Romulus and Remus among the number of other familiar legends and tales.

So basically the book is divided in five chapters the first chapter is entitled the Rome under the
kings. The Second chapter is entitled the Beginning of the Republic the Third chapter is the
Patricians at Bay the chapter four entitled as the wars and politics lastly the chapter five entitled
as the Capture of the Rome. So the writers of this book and the translator of this book organized
properly the events that had happened in Rome before. By the help of the translator of the
book they successfully put book in very interesting manner. And by them they helped those
historians’ students like me to gain more knowledge about the Rome before. So in chapter one
the story of founding of the great empire and the very root of how the great empire is created
which be later called as the Rome empire. So this chapter discusses the kings the tyrant kings
the good one king the brutal one and the political king. So what I like about this chapter is the
part when Romulus became the king or the leader of Rome thought the killing of his brother is
still a doubt I still like how he led the Rome in a very strong way. He was known as a strong
soldier of Rome before he became the leader of the place. And then marrying of the two tribes
to become stronger is also there which makes it more interesting because they are practicing
those things. This is also sad in my part because it proves that marrying a partner from other
family is for political business only. To be powerful and be known in the certain place which
doesn’t makes sense for me? Well maybe my reasoning is not completely convincing because I
never been born in there days. Which makes me happy because I was born in this era right?
Anyway just sharing those thought. Before the kings should be always strong to face the other
group to conquer there land and at the time of the kings they showed their very best to protect
their land, and speaking of land before it’s famous to had a large expansion because that makes
your kingdom a popular one. So yes the periods of the kings had a high and low of it that will
make you very interested to the happenings before. And what makes you more interested is
how those great kings got killed in there era because you know if you are a king then it is
obviously that you had all the power and well somehow you will be the target of other group.
So the killings of the kings before is poisoning or murdering or assassinated or if not
assassinated surely they died because of the funny sickness they had like high fever or diarrhea
right that doesn’t makes sense but I should understand because I knew that those minor
sickness before is a major illness for them.

So the kings had a good king and bad king like king Numa he is a good king because he
somehow created the religions before. He introduce to the people about having faith. I like he’s
succession because he tried the strategy of faith so the people in Rome wont became lazy and
put their guards down because before the kingdom of Rome is becoming popular so Numa tried
the religion strategy so the people of Rome wont put there guars down. And then the
succession of Ancus Marcus who was said he had in him something from Numa and something
from Romulus. He had the tyranny of Romulus and the peace of Nemu which makes him a great
king for me somehow but I know that he had also a bad side but I understand because after all
we are not perfect. But for me he was a perfect king. So the succession is continued there the
coming of those harsh kings. So Rome before had also the ups and down which we are also
experiencing up until to the present.

So in chapter two is about those people in Rome and the establishment of the republic so in this
the Rome is slowly rising. The Rome had already the senate to support the kings and also to
hear the voices of masses that is the simplest definition of having a government but before the
Rome already had the senate which is composed of royal family so in short the senate had no
essence of loving the masses but to love the money that the mass gives to them and that part is
what I hate the most. So the Rome had these patricians and slaves and officials senate and
military. So basically the level of those slaves poor and rich came from them. But this nation
became an empire in short there is always an result to those who worked hard look at Rome
even though the treatment they give to people is harsh they are still becoming a role model and
a great nation before. In chapter two or book two it is about the republic of Rome the senate
the officials the rule of slaves and those military solder and the role of masses of Rome. The
peace orders of Rome how the kings led there government and people especially there
expansion what are the effect of the wars that happens and how do they treat the people and
land they conquered. There are a lot of learning’s that I have read in chapter two that can make
you interest like who was became the first senate everything about them is very interesting that
can make us students of history learn a lot.

So in chapter three it’s about the patricians at bay so just by the title it will be talking and
learning about the patricians and there role in the society of Rome basically it’s about politics
and knowing about they’re nature and true self of the politicians in that time. So in conclusion
it’s not like we were the only one experiencing these corruption or being greediness because at
past especially in Rome the equality is not so famous the rich can only rule the world and those
poor is just a servant of the rich people. And it is sad for me to know it but somehow I’m happy
because after all I know where this things root. History really does teach us a lot and learn how
to face the present with the knowledge of the past. So being in history major is very interesting
because I can be feed with that knowledge and learn a lot of things. So in chapter three i don’t
have a favorite scene that I liked actually I hate those part because aside from what I said in
upper part that it’s about the greediness of human being. It’s just that I hate politics but not
totally because I still want to learn it and I’m also curios about how people became in such an
animal thinking though I know that we are originally an animals.

In chapter four it’s about the war and politics and again the politics world. So I like the part of
the war thing but the politics is exempted. But sad to say that when we talk about war the
politics is always connected. Because there would be alliances that will happens. Somehow this
war thing can be connected to his modern game COC or clash of clan’s right like if we look at it
properly the game is about taking the land and the money of other clan. It is just like the war
before the war in the past is happening because aside from they want the expansion of other
clan or tribe they also want to be known and to be powerful which makes sense. The Rome
before had defeated a lot of powerful clans to be powerful. And thanks to them the strategies
they had use is the model of the modern world of today’s generation. So somehow this game
for me is just like the war that happens in the past. So I therefor conclude and can say that this
COC game can somehow be related to the past wars that happened. So in short I only like the
wars in the story.

In chapter five is about the capture of the Rome. And from that titled its Cristal clear that yes it
is somehow the low stage of the Rome before. I like the part that Rome became stronger and
stronger known in the world as the powerful one. But everything is not eternal there would
always be the fall of everything or end. So from republic nation to the empire nation becoming
a powerful nation of the world the Rome was at their climax. In this chapter what I learn from
this part of the book is that aside from there is no forever simply because what happens to
Rome is a clearly saying that everything had an ending. Romans people military officials and
senate low their guards down. So because of that the other nation who is targeting Rome takes
the opportunity to take down the Rome so the Rome got captured. In conclusion and what I
learn we should always be ready for what will happen because everything is not for sure. So I
also read the part where there was a speech of Camillus and it was amazing. And the migration
of other tribe came from other lands and because Rome is from there climax they accept those
migrants and treat them as a citizens of Rome. And the last part of the book is the map of the
Rome before.

My conclusion is that Rome is a great empire full of good ideas that can help this generation.
The ideas of militarism and good strategies help a lot up to the present. And it came from them
they root from them though there is a part where there are lows and up experience of the
Rome. The main idea is they became a good empire actually a great empire they became
powerful. Maybe because of the great kings of Rome who truly led the Rome in such a
patriotism and good way? The smart people of Rome who suggests good ideas to contribute to
their world or the senate that protects the people from those tyrants kings and arrogant rich
people and patrician who complete the society of Rome or the people themselves who build
the Rome and complete the society of the Rome they became as a server or slaves of the Rome.
Their contribution is their hard work for building those amazing monuments that we can see
them up to this present. The book is full of information that can make me interested and made
me amaze. There was a part of scene that I thought it will never happen but it really does. And
because its part of the history I shall believe in those things because there was evidence that it
happens. Basically Rome Empire is the one who mold the world those ideas that we had it came
from them they are the masterminds of these politics in this world and we are the benefiter
who just uses their discovery and strategies and especially their ideas. So in general it’s thanks
to them that we are like this in the present. Though there is a bad side of things that is
happening because of them but there is something good happens because of them.
