ZSL Leave Policy

I. Absence

An employee is deemed absent when he/she is unavailable for work as assigned


and such time off was not approved in advance as required by department notification
procedure.
Anybody who clocks in later than 10.30 am will be marked absent for that day.
Anybody who is unavailable for work without notice on a Friday or Monday, or
both, or one day before or/and after, a gazzetted holiday, will be marked absent for
additional one/ two days.

II. Late

An employee is deemed to be late and may be warned/ reprimanded when


he/she:

 Fails to report for work at the assigned work time.


 Arrives to work past his/her scheduled start time.
 Takes an extended meal or break period without approval.
 Leaves work prior to the end of assigned work time without prior approval.

Employees have to clock in by 9.30 am at the latest. Whoever arrives after


9.30am is marked late.

III. Time Clocks and Failure to Clock in/out


A missed clock in/out is a violation of policy and includes:

 Failure to clock in/out on their designated time via thumb impression while
arriving at or departing from work.
 Clocking in/out early (or late) without prior approval.

Anybody who fails(forgets) to clock IN is marked late for that day.

Anybody who fails(forgets) to clock OUT is marked late for that day

IV. Departmental Notification Procedure


Employees have to notify/ request the management in advance if they will be
late for work or will not be at work. Failing to do so may lead to disciplinary action(s)
such as deduction in Salary/Pay or non-consideration for annual bonus or pay
raise.
An employee must notify the management at least a day prior to absence or
tardiness. Also, he/ she must notify the management when an absence is due to a
documented/approved leave of absence (e.g. Medical issues, doctors order, or natural
causes) in order to ensure appropriate tracking of leave utilization and absenteeism.

V. Leave on compassionate grounds

In case of unavoidable circumstances, Additional leaves may be


allowed subject to management discretion.
