Production log

25/06/19​ - In this lesson, my group brainstormed ideas for the documentary. We had used a
mindmap to think of a few and we are going to later decide on what exact topic we want to
focus on.

26/06/19​ - My group decided on the theme of our documentary, “Influences of social media
on young people and how they are affected.” we had narrowed in on our idea on social
media and thought about topics within. In the end, we chose to focus on young people and
how social media changes and affects people personally.

27/06/19​ - In this lesson, we are deciding on what questions to ask people for the
documentary and are beginning to think if what introduction we want to do. For example, if
we want someone to start off stating facts and the topic of discussion. We are also
researching what is usually asked in this type of documentary as well as starting the
pre-production paperwork.

We have chosen to interview 3-6 people interiorly and exteriorly and ask around 4-6
questions.

01/07/19 ​- we finished most of pre-production paperwork. We also chose what

02/07/19 ​- We used a tascam to record outside, but it was not good enough to include in our
final work. We decided that we would rerecord in another exterior location.

03/07/19 ​- decided what we are doing for unit 24 and what we need to do next. For the unit
24 half of the film, we decided that would have a voice over on a montage that we will film to
introduce the unit 25 portion of the documentary.

16/07/19​ - we decided that we would get the exterior sound out of the way first, we thought
this was the one we would have more issues with. We shot perhaps 8 different interviews
outside which, included us rerecordings any sound that may have not came out great.

18/07/19​ - we recording our first set of interior recordings. We found that the sound was
harder to do inside due to things such as, echoes and the air conditioning.

03/09/19​ - after only editing a small bit of footage due to some not being able to be used due
to the quality. We re recorded another interior interview as well as the voice over.

04/09/19​ - on this day, we decided to actively edit the footage that we had. We found that we
did need to try record again.

06/09/19​ - we updated all of out pre-production files.
