ISSUE
Terex is aware that if, during repair or maintenance of the crane models/serial numbers shown above,
the rectangular rod (used in the outrigger position sensing system to detect the position of the
outriggers) is disassembled, the operator's manual does not contain information for reassembly of the
rod and vetification of system function,
Ifthe rod used in the outrigger position sensing system is not reassembled properly, the outrigger
position sensing system may display an incorrect outrigger position to the operator,

Each outrigger beam will contain (2) two proximity sensors (items 5 & 6) for determining the
location of outrigger beams at mid extend position and full extension, Each sensor has an
air gap to maintain to operate properly and send signals to the Rated Capacity Indicator
(RCI) of Rated Capacity Limiter (RCL). Visually inspect sensors for damage, the condition of
related wiring harness connections and dirt / debris that could inhibit the sensor signal or

Inspection & Assembly Check
If the rectangular rod (item 1) shown in Fig. 2 & Fig. 3 is removed when doing any repair to
the outrigger, it must be installed back in the channel (item 2) on the bottom of the beam
extend cylinder (tem 3). If the rod is not properly assembled, the operator could get a false
ORPS (Outrigger Position Sensing) signal and a green light on the Greer display (Fig. 5 &
Fig 6).
Follow steps 1 thru 7 to verify proper assembly of the rod.

Set the Greer display to full outrigger position. (See Fig. 4)
‘The green indicator light should illuminate at full outrigger extension (item 2) on the
Greer display. (See Fig. 5 or Fig. 6 depending on your Greer display installed).
Retract the outrigger beam that was disassembled,
When the beam starts to move inward, the green light should change to red and the
alarm should go off. If you continue to get a green light, the rod is not in the correct
position.
6. If more than one beam was disassembled, fully extend the beam you just checked.
7. Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 until you have checked all disassembled beams.
Greer Element VGA Screen
You may have two (2) different screen views available depending if you have an early or
later version of Greer display.

‘The CONFIGURATION display represents the current setup of the system with green
indicators. Each area contains a group of one or more green indicators and button to
change the setup selection.
Select item 1 Outrigger button.
‘The Outrigger button contains three green indicators. They indicate full, intermediate, or
retracted outriggers. Choose the outrigger selection from the configuration display.

Inspection & Assembly Check
If the rectangular rod (item 1) shown in Fig. 2 & Fig. 3 is removed when doing any repair to
the outrigger, it must be installed back in the channel (item 2) on the bottom of the beam
extend cylinder (item 3). Ifthe rod is not properly assembled, the operator could get a false
ORPS (Outrigger Position Sensing) signal and a green light on the Greer display (Fig. 5 &
Fig 6).
Follow steps 1 thru 7 to verify proper assembly of the rod.

1. Fully extend all (4) outrigger beams.
Sot the Greer cisplay to full outrigger position. (See Fig. 4)
The green indicator light should illuminate at full outrigger extension (item 2) on the
Greer display. (See Fig. 5 or Fig. 6 depending on your Greer display installed).
Retract the outrigger beam that was disassembled.
When the beam starts to move inward, the green light should change to red and the
alarm should go off. If you continue to get a green light, the rod is not in the correct
position.
6. If more than one beam was disassembled, fully extend the beam you just checked.
7. Repeat steps 4, 5 and 6 until you have checked all disassembled beams.
Greer Element VGA Screen
You may have two (2) different screen views available depending if you have an early or
later version of Greer display.

indicators. Each area contains a group of one or more green indicators and button to
change the setup selection.

Outrigger Position Sensors
Each outrigger beam will contain (2) two proximity sensors (items 5 & 6) for determining the
location of outrigger beams at mid extend position and full extension. Each sensor has an
air gap to maintain to operate properly and send signals to the Rated Capacity Indicator
(AC!) oF Rated Capacity Limiter (RCL). Visually inspect sensors for damage, the condition of
related wiring harness connections and dirt / debris that could inhibit the sensor signal or
proper air gap.
