Discrete Control Systems | IIT Kharagpur | Professor in Charge: Dr. Arun Ghosh May - July 2017
Skills and Technologies: Closed loop feedback control in Simulink (MATLAB)
• Designed and implemented a discrete time closed loop position controller for magnetic levitation of a metallic ball inside a magnetic field
• Obtained an optimal sampling time for 5% overshoot and 25% decay ratio for better robustness and tracking compared to previous controllers
PROJECTS
Introspecting Netflix and Amazon Prime Recommendation Platforms | Prof.Saptarshi Ghosh Aug - Nov 2018
Skills and Technologies: Python, Web Crawlers, Bow Tie Analysis, PageRank Centrality Measures
• Designed web crawlers using BFS algorithm for Netflix and Amazon prime to generate large-scale graphs of movies recommended by these websites
• Analysed the graph using Bow Tie analysis and InDegree distribution and discovered the promotional bias in movie/ series recommendations
• Evaluated correlation between PageRank/ InDegree centality and IMDb rating obtaining 0.02,0.03, -0.27 &-0.14 for Netflix & Prime Video respectively
