EFFECTIVITY OF CITRONELLA EXTRACT (Cymbopogon nardus) AS MOSQUITO
REPELLANT THROUGH CONTAINER WATER-STAGNANT TRAP The main purpose of the
study is to repel domestic mosquitoes, this is nonpesticide or non-
chemically used device, safe and effective and made of simple and local
plant extract. The effectivity of the project Citronella essential oil
as mosquito repellent in the mosquito traps were tested and placed where
adult mosquitoes that comes out of the house. Observation was made 5
days and the period of treatments, started from 5 pm until 9 pm. The
number of mosquito larvae and breeding rate were recorded everyday.
Results showed the Citronella essential oil as mosquito repellent was
very effective in repelling mosquito because the mosquitoes are
disturbed with Citronellol that irritant t

o the insects.

PANDAN LEAVES AS COMPONENT FOR MULTI-PURPOSE ORGANIC POLISH WITH INSECT

REPELLANT PROPERTY The investigatory project used Pandan leaves and
beeswax as components of the polish. This project was determined if the
product is effective as commercial polish in repelling insect and if it
can be used for different material surfaces such as leather, woods and
concrete tiles. Pandan leaves organic polish is effective as much as the
same with commercial polish. The physical properties of the product are
more favorable as compare to the commercial one. Data collected
indicated 100 % repellency of any ratio with Pandan extract, thus
confirming that repellent compounds, was effective at any concentration.
For the general acceptability of the product, the preparation is simple;
smell has Pandan smell and effective. In addition, Pandan polish was
effective as commercial polishes in terms of brightness.
POMELO RIND AS MEDICAL BANDAGE AND TESTED ITS ABSORBENCY LEVEL ON THREE
DIFFERENT FLUIDS Medical bandage is an engineered fibrous acetate
preparation designed as a hemostatic dressing, to absorb excess fluids
and is for healing wounds with topical antimicrobial dressing. Pomelo
rinds improve bone health. Since they contain high amounts of calcium
and vitamin C, and Limonene lemon peels have been shown to aid
preventing osteoporosis, inflammatory polyarthritis, and rheumatoid
arthritis. Limonene has anti bacterial and fungal properties. In this
study present the properties of Lemon peeling as bandage with three
treatments singly and in all possible combinations on rates of blood
absorption coagulation time and investigate in more detail the effects
of commercial acetate bandage alone on this model of wound healing.
Results showed that the physical property of medical bandage from lemon
peelings in terms of density is less, breaking strength is high and
flammability is less. The absorbency level of medical bandage from
Pomelo peelings on the three different experimental liquids are high
absorption capacity and inducing coagulation of blood is more likely the
same effective as commercial in the absorption of the different liquids.
The level of general acceptability of the product in terms of
preparation is easy, smell is citrus fruit and absorption is effective.

THE DUST FREE BLACKBOARD CHALK: TESTING ITS WRITING READABILITY AND
LEVEL OF LEGIBILITY The study conducts due to chalk tended to produce a
cloud of dust that some feared might contribute to respiratory problems
and economics crisis nowadays. It is aimed to create a product of chalk
which is dust free and cheaper that could give the same quality which
the commercial one. The main purpose of this project is to determine the
dust free level of chalk, level of readability and legibility of chalk
writing on the black board. It was found out that eggshell chalk could
give also almost the same quality which the commercial one could give.
There is significant difference in the level of dust free of chalk with
egg white as binder between experimental treatments. There is
significant difference in the level of legibility of the dust free chalk
writing on the black board between experimental treatments. There is
significant difference in the level of general acceptability of the dust
free chalk product between experimental treatments.
