Introduction

Currently, most people spend their money patronizing new trends of product
especially here in our country, Philippines. Way back 90's, the old tea is commonly served
hot. That is why entrepreneurs tend to innovate new product that will surely love by the
consumers. Today, milk tea is the most trendy in the market and seems like people forgot
the classic tea.
Tea is an alternative drink for those who are not fond of drinking coffee. It is a
healthier beverage since it has many benefits for an individual's health. Tea is an aromatic
and refreshing drink mostly consumed by the elders.
That is why our business came up with an idea to provide unique, healthy and less
costly tea that will meet their satisfaction. Also, to attract millenials to embrace the
tradtional type of tea.

Theoretical Background
Research on corn silk has been especially active since 2006 when a leading
pharmaceutical company launched a beverage made from it.
According to Yi Whan-woo, Korea’s traditional corn silk tea is drawing public
interest in terms of its health effects with more people paying attention to their well-being.
Studies have shown that corn silk carries anti-cancer agents as well as chemicals that
prevent aging of the skin.
Korean Corn Tassel Tea is an inspired tea from Korea traditionally called
“oksusucha”. It can be serve either hot or cold. Korean Corn Tassel Tea is said to aid in
digestion and is supposed to be good for the kidneys and help with lowering blood
pressure.
In reality, there are two main versions of corn tassel tea; health benefits of yellow
corn grits tea (oksusu-cha) and corn silk tea (oksusu-suyeom cha), Corn tea can be made
from corn kernels, or with added corn silk. While then, corn silk tea is made entirely from
corn silk. It is basically “boiled corn water”. The corns are roasted and charred slowly until
they are dark in colour, and then boiled in water until it produces a nutty flavour.

Knowledge Gap
The researchers perform a knowledge gap analysis to see if the business will be
successful. The proponents used a descriptive method to describe, interpret and validate
findings through surveys and interviews regarding the said gap.
Statement of the Problem
This study aims to answer the following questions:
1. How will Korean Corn Tassel Tea establish their own distinct brand image?
2. What innovative methods may Korean Corn Tassel Tea use to seek attention in a
market dominated by tea lovers?
3. How will Korean Corn Tassel Tea increase and sustain its market?

Research Paradigm/Conceptual Framework


This study will focus on the process of establishing the Korean Corn Tassel Tea in
the Philippines.

Significance of the Study


The result of this study will be beneficial to the industry for them to know if they will
meet the satisfaction of their customers. They will have an idea what flavors will the
customers patronize and will tend to like.
Tea lovers can get future health benefits.
Future researchers of this study can use this market study as a reference
and guide material in doing their own study.
Business students can also learn competitive advantage and will serve as
a future reference to motivate and inspire them to pursue their own business in the future.
Research Design
The researchers used descriptive analysis as to the methodology because it
gathered data, classified and described said data in accordance with existing file situation
as it applies to groups of people.
In terms of elements, the study was followed a qualitative approach. These methods aim
to answer questions about the “what”, “how” or “why” of a research.
