Dear Secretary Cimatu:

In relation to the duly executed and fully consummated Compromise Agreement, as regards
Animal Islands Case, effected between the Department of Environment and Natural Resources
and First Orient International Ventures Corporation.

One of the terms and conditions set forth in the aforesaid Compromise Agreement is the
withdrawal of all pertinent cases that may have been filed before any court or otherwise as a
consequence or arising out of the Animal Islands Case.

In this regard, we are respectfully requesting your honorable office to advise the Office of the
Solicitor General to vacate its relevant Petition for Review on Certiorari filed before the Supreme
Court. Rest assured that a corresponding action on our part is being undertaken. In fact, we are in
the process of likewise withdrawing our pertinent action for determination of the reimbursable
amount pending before the Regional Trial Court of Imus, Cavite.

We fervently hope that our appeal to your Honorable Office be recognized and sincerely desire
for its immediate endorsement to the Office of the Solicitor General pursuant to the stipulations
of the Compromise Agreement.
